Love and Monsters? [#1]

[This is an AU with much cooler shit- OC main character]

It all started when the doom was visible from the skies- Agatha 616, the asteroid that would destroy earth, but humans did what they did best and blew it up! Of course, it only started there... Radiation and Chemicals never go along, even more when mixed with explosives, so it wasn't exactly a surprise when the blown up asteroid scattered through the word in shards and spread its chemicals and energy into the atmosphere of the planet- No, it wasn't a surprise for him, he has been through it, after all. See, radiation and chemicals caused mutation on earth, not only on the life in the planet, but also the planet itself!

With this strange mixture of the regular radiation from nukes and the radiation the shattered asteroid spread, everything evolved and changed- Mamals, Insects, Plants, and even Humanity as a whole- Or the survivors. 95% of the whole human population was wiped out in one single year, giant ants, spiders, leeches, frogs, lizards, eagles... Each mutated differently- Some mamals thankfully mutated in a rather unique way, their natural features were upgraded, cows produced more milk, sheep produced more wool, horses were faster, pigs were more aggressive and way more into the whole cannibalism thing that they go for, but they became strangely tamable by giving a certain mushroom that also mutated. Fish, Snails, Sharks, every single life mutated, and it was both the worst and best thing that ever happened to him in his whole life.

He went through 10 years in this Post-apocalyptic world with giant mosters and creatures, but he survived and grew as a person, and learned so much... Now as he watched the blazing rocks falling from the heavens as a sign of humanity's doom, he knew- It was startig again, but this time, he would survive!

So, 10 years huh?

Sometimes i ask myself, was it all a dream? But looking at the first instance of a mutated monster, i knew it to be true. "Well." Sighing, i took out my crossbow and aimed at the Giant Bee's head, shooting and killing it instantly, i had years of experience and i knew that once you killed a drone, more would come, and thats what i want! Roughly the size of a large dog, these things had a mean hooked sting that pulsed with poison, poison i would use for my killing arrows, i would have to make some for hinting since i don't want to contaminate the meat with poison of these bees- They are mean, like, very mean! Their poison causes severe paralysis and pain through the whole body, it isn't enough to kill you, buy it's enough to paralyze you and have them carry you to their colony where they make you into honey... There is a species of Bees named Vulture Bees, that make Meat Honey, but now all Giant Bees do make Meat honey if they catch meat, but mostly they make normal honey.

"Well- Oh, here they come." These giant bees released a pheromone when they die, this pheromone is similar to some ants pheromones that mark an individual as a target for the bees revenge, and that's what I'm taking advantage of right now! I hid away while breathing in and out, people wouldn't start mutating until the first year, but if i wanna increase my chances of survival I'd have to get the fragment of the asteroid, because that thing has the radiation i need to evolve- It's almost like a wuxia novel, but it's weird. Mutations were not that common unless you lived near an asteroid fragment, but they were out there! Mind, Body, and Senses were the three types of mutations he knew of...

When he survived the end of the world, he had all three, because as you keep living your chance of having one increased, and he had also inserted a piece of asteroid inside his chest- Well, it was stabbed into his chest and he closed the wound, but the shard took to his heart. 'This time... I'll shove the whole thing.' He knew a few things he could use to help him survive the insertion, first aid kit with morphine (Since his recently deceased father - he was squished by a giant praying mantis a few minutes ago, he doesn't care because the guy was a terrible asshole to him and his brother - was in constant pain and he had some to his illness), an adrenaline activator (Just in case he needs it), bandages, and a particularly clean knife. 'Well, it's not the craziest shit i did... I also got the Regeneration Mutation, so maybe I'll get it too here.' Body Mutation: Regeneration was the first mutation I awoke, it made my recovery so faster, I also did not produce as much acid in my muscles as a normal human would, so I wouldn't get tired as easily! My bones and muscles could regenerate so fast, and it kept me alive for longer! I also got two Senses Mutations: Eyes and Ears, it increased sight and hearing, he unlocked more as I grew due to the shard inside my chest making me stronger too.

It was an amazing experience, but humanity's greed is scary, they take everything.

So of course they took my shard, from my heart, alongside the muscle.

I survived for three days without a heart, and then died when i was eaten alive by Sand Gobblers... It hurt, but now I'm alive and here, i continued to kill the bees for a while, i took off their sting with care, it was going to be useful. After 6 hours of doing it, I had enough for more than a hundred arrows, which i made (50% of the arrow itself was the stinger, i just had to make it usabe!) with some difficulty due to my lack of physical strength, but i had arrows enough to kill enemies. "Now... Where was it again?" Narrowing my eyes, i stood on the roof of a broken house, looking around- There were many houses, i had to get in shape if i wanted to survive, but these paralyzing arrows will certainly help me. "There." Looking at the specific raising smoke in the distance among many, i saw what I wanted- The nearest asteroid shard, the one that was shoved into my chest when in the past (future? present?) by a giant hummingbird that used its beak to stab me through the chest, it was holding the asteroid shard in its beak because it wanted to eat it or something, but i killed it at the same time it stabbed me in the chest, but i survived thanks to my mutation.

Now... I gotta do it a second time.

A 6'2 young teen wearing cargo short and a black sleeveless shirt with a black leather jacket on held onto a wooden crossbow, it looked to be repaired because some parts were broken here and there, his steps were silent as he walked, eyes on the building before him- A crumbled building, a hole going to the bottom of the hells, and the noise of wings flapping as the sun went down- Hummingbirds. This was the building, he Avian Research Laboratory that hsd some species of birds here that they were studying, and one of the hummingbirds grew to the size of a house cat, its beak became sharper, and it sought blood- Blood of everything. It killed many, even it's own species, because it was a Vampire Bird, not a Hummingbird anymore. "There..." He looked at the gate to hell and did not hesitate as he jumped down, hand on the wall as he went down, a rather long short blade turned on it's backside to use as a means of chipping away pieces of the wall so he could put his feet in the holes.

It was easy, he had climbed a mountain once, he also fell down from it and broke a few bones before he learned how to properly hike without safety equipment, with everything you got! The flapping wings of the beast hummed in the ear and his ears caught the sound, he turned to look and saw in the darkness of this expanse, the red bird flapping its wings, standing there, in the air without moving, in front of it was a large piece of rock for the household cst size it had, but to our teen hero, it was the size of a adult male fist, he planned to shove it right in the middle of his chest- He released an arrow and watched as the bird suddenly came to life and did a 180° in a second, dodging the bee sting arrow and looking at him with red eyes, its red beak and feathers would make a great addition to his... Collection.

Everyone needs a hobby, his? Collecting trophies! He wanted to make something out of the beak, maybe he makes a whole feathered costume out of this thing and go around killing monsters? "Yeah... Pfft. That'd be funny." He chuckled as the impending death charged at him, it still held the stone in its beak because it was a bird, they aren't smart, even more so a Hummingbird! "This gonna hurt." He sighed as the sharp beak went through his chest, making a gaping hole, where it got stuck- Thankfully his spine wasn't terribly damaged, and the stone was where he wanted it to, so he held the beak with his hand and raised the other, like an immortal warrior, he sank his blade onto the skull of the hummingbird, killing the Vampire Bird once and for all. "Shit, this really hurts." He was used to fighting like this, having a strong Regeneration makes you have some habits, like for example: Tanking the damage and striking back!

Can't blame him, that's the strategy he's more familiar with than anything.

"F-fuck." His heart was a little bit damaged even though he made sure to avoid it, his ribs were broken, but if he succeeds there'll be much less pain... Because his Regeneration started really strong with only a small piece of the asteroid, imagine this whole thing? He was greedy, and that made him human- He wanted power, to survive, to go a path he didn't go in the past- Future. His brother, he has to find him! With conviction, he placed his hand on the hole to keep the stone there and took out the morphine fron the box on the side of his hip, he sank into his body while he also took the adrenaline.

It'll probably kill him, can he take both at the same time? Are they the same? He doesn't know, honestly, and he doesn't care! "Fuck." he could still breathe shallow breaths, lungs damaged and heart damaged, but he felt it, it was strange- The flesh of his body was pulled towards the stone! The radiation in the sky and the atmosphere made everyone's body suitable for mutation, and now such mutation was being activated by a large shard of the asteroid- His bones, spine and muscles, lungs and heart all connected to the stone, the asteroid stone had this ominous light blue glow that spread through his veins, in the past-future his skin would glow sometimes when he lost control, but now? His whole chest was glowing. "AAARGH!"

Pain.

Indescribable paim.

Terrible pain- His brain was barely processing it, but he felt it, this blue energy enter his spine and spread through his veins and nervous system, he knew it was happening because it happened in the past-futute! He knew the effects it had on his body, it made him a monster, a gruesome monster, but he would take it to survive- His skin cracked right around the chest the skin did mot cover the light glowing rock in his chest, in fact, veins of blue spread through his chest originating from the chest until it slowly vanished, once it a while it pulsed though, his veins pulsed with energy and he opened his eye- His fingers curled, he knew this was the peak he achieved in his past-future... Well, not really, but it was the foundation he took years to build right in an instant!

He felt euphoric until he tried to get up and couldn't, his eyes and ears were hurting as he heard and saw more than he wanted to, his muscles tensed and he could feel everything in his body, from internal organs to bones and veins full of energized blood- The rock in his chest pulsed, sending a wave of energy through his body, making him sigh. He called it Resonance.

Lame name, but it worked like this: Once you evolved to where he is right now, your body could take energy from the atmosphere, and that energy could be used in ways he never managed to learn because he died- Anyway, it made him physically stronger, studier, and increased his stamina! But jt had a terrible effect on the mind- Sure it made him think faster and memorize everything he sees and hears, but that's the problem! He will remember everything, he can never unsee, unhear, or forget anything that he ever lived. THAT took a toll on his mental health in the past-future... "Fuck, i want ny guitar..." In the Past-future he also played guitar, some monsters didn't like loud noises, so he chased them away with Metallica sometimes.

His body convulsed as he gathered his energy in his eyes, making them probably glow light blue as he saw in the dark- See? Augmentation through spending inner energy! Magic. "Well... Maybe i can find an egg?" He never looked around in the past-future, maybe there's an egg he could raise and train? Make it his ride through the skies? "But first..." His hands alone were enough to dismantle the Vampire Bird, he was too used to this life, too used really, he almost died a few minutes ago and here he was humming 'Welcome to the Jungle' while ripping a creature's wings out of their body brutally! "Maybe i could keep the skeleton?" He pondered for a moment before saying 'Nah' to himself and continuing his hummind.

That's just the way he was- maybe a little sociopathic? Maybe.

But that's him, our protagonist!

His name? Well- "Zack?"
