Chapter 20: Back Home

For one of the first times ever, Sirzechs felt his throat get hoarse- The words of his brother were truthful.

He had avoided him because he didn't want to see Grayfia- did that mean that he hated his Brother? Did that mean he hated Izana?

Tension hung in the air as the heart of the Maou raced... he looked into his Brother's eyes and saw the blue orbs looking as demanding as ever.

They demanded an answer- and an answer was what they would get.

"No, I don't hate you," Sirzechs said yet the weight upon his heart was not lifted- it was still looming over him, like a shackle which entangled his entire figure... he hadn't gotten rid of it.

"Then why?" Izana asked as his eyes were beginning to wet up, "Why do you avoid me? Why do you not want to hold a proper conversation with me-?"

Sirzechs felt his heart clench from inside as the boy's words came rushing in.

"I suspect-"

The shackles were slowly beginning to loosen around his figure, the tightness of his heart- everything was being lifted the more he felt the need to voice it out.

Sirzechs just wanted to say it...

"You suspect?" Izana asked. 

"I suspect that you're the man that Grayfia loves," Sirzechs replied, "She was so happy to be with you- To become your personal attendant Izana, she was so happy to leave me behind and I hate it... I hate it with every fiber of my being,"

"Why does she prefer you more? You haven't come of age," Sirzechs said, "You aren't even ready for marriage yet she loves you, We've been together for nothing less than a hundred years BUT you came in and she prefers you now,"

Izana clenched his teeth, he didn't want his fun to be finished that easily- he hadn't expected Sirzechs to confess this for about another year or two but there was nothing he could do.

Inwardly, he couldn't suppress an evil grin- sure everything pointed toward him but there was always a way... when there was a will, there was a way and in Izana's case- he wanted to fool Sirzechs into thinking that Grayfia was using him to get to her lover.

Why? There was no way he could combat the hate of a Maou and especially Sirzechs.

"I think you have it all wrong Big brother," Izana said and the tears instantly vanished from his eyes, "Have you ever thought if she was using me as well?"

As Sirzechs stared at the boy, the original teary expression that Izana harbored had vanished and was now replaced by a cold calculating grin... 

"Using you?" Sirzechs asked.

"Think about it, there's always a chance that she left you because she wanted the freedom to be with her lover- apart from attending to me less of the time, Grayfia is relatively free in the house. I do have three maids which tend to my every need," Izana replied, "Besides I hardly see Grayfia in the household- ask Seth behind me if you think I'm lying,"

Sirzechs's gaze went to Seth and the girl instantly turned her eyes to the ground, refusing to connect eyes with the Maou.

Instead she fearfully said...

"L- L- Lord Sirzechs, What Master said is true- Lady G- Grayfia is not at home most of the time," Seth replied and Sirzechs went back to Izana.

"So you're suggesting that Grayfia is sneaking out to meet her lover?" Sirzechs asked and Izana nodded but before Sirzechs could say anything, Izana gave a small grin.

"If you want, I could watch where she's going and kill this lover of her's," Izana said and Sirzechs took a step back, there was coldness in his voice.

"K- kill?" Sirzechs muttered.

"He's obviously one of those Low class devils," Izana suggested, "And I'll time it in a way that she won't be able to save him, once I get his location of course- So what do you think about the proposal?"

In the backyard where Rias and Seekvaira sat, playing a game... A magic circle popped up out of nowhere and three figures emerged.

Seekvaira glanced at Izana, his crimson hair had grown longer and his eyes were glowing in a deeper shade of blue but he wasn't the one that had assumed the most shocking transformation- it was Seth.

She barely looked any different like Izana but Seekvaira could feel it, a sort of unleashed energy- something that Seekvaira feared to face.

"Big brother, welcome home!" Rias exclaimed and pushed off the ground in an instant, Rias spread out her arms and rushed across the grassy backyard into the arms of Izana who hugged her back tightly.

"Thank you for a warm welcome, Rias," Izana said and glanced at Sirzechs, Rias understood immediately and wrapped her arms around her Oldest brother's waist in an instant.

"I missed you too, bigger bro!"

The terms used to define them were Big brother (Izana) and Bigger brother (Sirzechs), this was the way she differentiated it since she refused to pronounce them by their real names.

"It's nice to see you Rias, how has the month been going?" Sirzechs asked while patting her head and walking forward.

Rias followed behind him with a big grin.

"It was fun, Seekvaira came to play," Rias said, "And we even played within her time barrier- Bigger bro should have seen how it felt in there- it felt a little bit fuzzy,"

Izana spared Seekvaira a glance, while he was honing his combat skills against Seth- she was training and honing her barrier perfectly... It was just as he expected, she didn't want to be left out.

Watching the two leave and sending Seth away to clean up his room, Izana stuffed his hands into his pockets and cheerfully walked to Seekvaira.

"So you had an interesting month?" Izana asked while the girl adjusted her glasses, he couldn't miss the blush that adorned her cheeks.

"You smell funny," Seekvaira said.

"I believe the word is manly," Izana shot back with a grin as he played with his toy, "Seekvaira- thanks for staying with Rias, she would have been scared lonely... there aren't much people in this house she can get along with,"

"There's no problem Izana, I'm just doing my duty as her friend..." Seekvaira said and then looked into his eyes, a blush highlighting both of their cheeks as their faces were close... Yes Izana had sat behind her.

"But still, thanks for being with her- You've made me really happy," Izana said and Seekvaira found herself unable to break from his gaze, butterflies floated in her belly.
