83 Chapter 78: Demon Of The Fourth Generation

Ps.: Daily double chapter will have to wait till next week. I'm on trip with friends and damn the Manabu plot really had people unconvinced. If you also didn't like how Tatsuya revealed himself then do check out my reply to the recent pinned comment. Personally I find the way I wrote it completely justified. Of course, just ignore it if you don't care.

...

Tatsuya heard that and chuckled before ignoring him. Not receiving an answer Ayanokouji also became quiet.

He had no doubt it was Tatsuya who leaked it.

The moment Horikita mentioned the fact that Tatsuya had confessed to her he had an inkling of what Tatsuya wanted to do.

But what really interested him was the fundamental reasoning behind what Tatsuya was doing.

Was his goal Horikita, or was his goal reaching Class A?

Depending on the situation Ayanokouji felt that he might have to pull some strings.

While he was unsure of his intellect, the strength Tatsuya displayed was overwhelming and Ayanokouji even felt that he was holding back.

One of the major reasons he had come to this school was to prove his father wrong and if there was anyone who had a chance then Ayanokouji felt like Tatsuya might be the one.

The one to defeat him.

Even though he didn't believe it was possible, the very fact that it could be true made Ayanokouji hopeful.

Real Genius vs False Genius.

He hoped to see an ending to it.

Tatsuya had no idea about what Ayanokouji was thinking and his blank stoic look didn't give any clues.

They exited the lift together and unintentionally walked together.

"Was the Whiteroom ever difficult?" He suddenly asked and Ayanokouji looked at Tatsuya silently.

"How much do you know?" Ayanokouji felt this was the right time to gauge the amount of information Tatsuya had. That way he could make some assumptions about Tatsuya's identity.

Tatsuya didn't have any plans for Ayanokouji, he was a fan of Classroom of The Elite. Now that he had the opportunity to directly ask some things he followed his heart.

"I know almost everything from its formation to its current state, especially the Beta Curriculum you 4th Generation Students endured. I'm still surprised you didn't drop out."

"I see," Ayanokouji accepted Tatsuya's words, "My circumstances were a bit special."

"Adaptability huh," Tatsuya muttered, "Well, I guess it doesn't matter. Oh by the way, Don't think I'm a Whiteroom student. With the information I have it might seem suspicious but you don't have to worry about tha—"

"I'm pretty sure you're not from the Whiteroom."

Ayanokouji interrupted him and Tatsuya paused.

"Quite the bold words, don't you think someone who knows about the Whiteroom and still challenges you has to have a high probability of being from the Whiteroom?"

"Not necessarily," Ayanokouji said, "But it's better to assume you're not from the Whiteroom. It would be disappointing if you were."

"Hahaha, there's a saying 'frog at the bottom of the well doesn't know the depth of the ocean', do you believe it's impossible for anyone from the Whiteroom to defeat you?"

Tatsuya had read the novel, but experiencing this level of confidence in person was quite interesting.

"I may not know the depth of the ocean but I know the vastness of the sky. When it comes to the Whiteroom it's different. No matter how much the children receive the same education they will never reach this height."

Even Tatsuya went silent upon hearing that. As expected of the character that he found fascinating when he was young.

"Alright, alright. I have an idea of why you've come to this school Ayanokouji and I don't mind helping you but till then you don't plan to interfere with whatever I'm doing, right?"

"I don't even know what you're planning, how can I interfere?"

Tatsuya rolled his eyes, he would be a fool if he believed him.

"So you'll interfere if you know what I'm doing?" Tatsuya played with his words and Ayanokouji sighed.

Tatsuya didn't really care he was just teasing him. Whatever Ayanokouji would try was futile. In front of absolute power, all schemes were trivial.

"I didn't mean that, I'm a bit bad with words."

"What's the point in pretending in front of me? I'm pretty sure you can hold quite a decent conversation if you weren't lazy." Tatsuya chuckled.

"If it's a challenge you want then I'll give it to you soon. Just be patient and wait quietly. Go to the gym as much as you can your current state is a bit pitiful. We'll be having some fun during the summer break."

"I look forward to it, Demon of The Fourth Generation."

Saying this Tatsuya sped up and left him behind. His voice faded away and so did his figure.

"..."

"A force of habit I guess..."

Ayanokouji muttered to himself and continued to walk at his current pace, gradually Tatsuya disappeared from his view.

They didn't mention Horikita during the conversation because, in the end, she was irrelevant.

Tatsuya's plans for her were a bit far from now and Ayanokouji had lost his interest in her after the recent conversation.

Ayanokouji's original plan was to passively and quietly observe the growth of these hidden gems.

Just how much could they grow on their own?

Ayanokouji didn't doubt that if Tatsuya weren't in this school and Horikita or the other class leaders didn't satisfy him he might've taken matters into his own hands and forcefully made them grow behind the scenes.

But all these potential developments had no more meaning. Ayanokouji had already judged Tatsuya to be above the level of the students at this school, at least for now.

Maybe the answer to equality and merit he was searching for might be fulfilled by the summer break.

But if Tatsuya betrayed his expectations then after summer break Ayanokouji would take matters into his own hands.

Ayanokouji didn't realise it but due to his own ego, and his observations on day one he had already judged everyone in this school to be inferior.

Even in the Whiteroom, where there were children who were equal to him in his generation, they were ultimately left behind.

As for the other generation of students after him...

Just like you wouldn't remember the shape of every single little stone on the side of the road, both those you studied with and those who taught you would be removed and disappear if they were incompetent.

That was artificial selection.

Whether they could compete with him on equal terms...that wasn't even up for discussion. If his opponent's skill level jumped from five to twenty, or even to thirty, they still weren't anywhere close to a hundred.

That's why Ayanokouji was sure Tatsuya was not taught by the Whiteroom.

...

Soon, he reached the Classroom and noticed something odd. Kushida was standing at the podium of the classroom and the class was looking at her with a confused expression.

But what caught Ayanokouji's attention was Kushida's current state.

Her face was pale and her eyes seemed to be a bit dull compared to her usual brightness.

PS. Tatsuya just used the summoning card and something unexpected happened. I'm quite happy and a bit startled with how it turned out.
