Ayanokouji had invited Horikita to the Pallet Cafe because going alone would make him too nervous.

Considering his situation of being friendless, Horikita pitied him and agreed.

But just when she arrived at the cafe with Ayanokouji, some students from Class D who were there coincidentally got up and left an empty table for them.

Finding it a bit odd, she ignored it and sat down.

"Hey, I just thought of something. Others might think we are a cou-"

A sharp glare stopped his blabbering, "Get me a cup of cold coffee." He had invited her, so he should pay for her.

"Ah, Ayanokouji-kun! Horikita-san! What a coincidence!"

Just then, an annoying voice sounded in her ears.

With a deadpan expression, she looked towards Kushida and then looked towards Ayanokouji.

"What brings you here, Ayanokouji-kun? By the way, all the seats are filled. Can I sit with you?"

"Sure, why not?" He said with a dull voice.

Alternating her gaze between them, she slammed her hand on the table before getting up.

"I'm leaving."

"Why? We just got here?" Ayanokouji asked, and Kushida was stunned.

"I only came here with you because you had no one else to come with, but now that Kushida is here, my presence is no longer needed."

With a cold tone, she turned to leave, but Ayanokouji stopped her and didn't know what to say.

"Kushida and I are classmates..."

"Hmph! We're the same, and do you think I can't understand what's going on here?"

"Huh, what do you mean? It was a coincidence that I'm here!"

Hearing that, Ayanokouji's eyebrows very subtly moved in annoyance. 'Shouldn't have said that.'

He sighed before telling the truth. "Well, yeah, we created this situation. But Kushida-san just wants to be friends with you."

"Yeah! Horikita-san, please be my friend!"

"Stop disturbing me. People like you are the worst. I already said I don't want friends. I don't have a personal problem with you, so you don't have to worry much."

"Are you sure? You'll be lonely until graduation with an attitude like this." Ayanokouji chimed in, not wanting to be silent in this situation.

Horikita passed by him, and her voice echoed in his ears, "I've been alone for 9 years, and if you count kindergarten, even longer. I'm fine."

Just as Horikita was about to exit, she bumped into someone.

It was Tatsuya.

She looked at him with a frown. "What an unpleasant coincidence..."

"Why are you so rude? Do you really think you're someone special?" Hasabe lashed out before Tatsuya could speak.

Horikita ignored her and walked past them, causing Hasabe to fly into rage.

Tatsuya calmed her down and said, "Calm down, it's not her fault. In fact, I pity her. She has had a pretty sad childhood."

Hasabe was confused by what he meant, but Horikita, who barely heard it, paused in her tracks.

Kushida and Ayanokouji, who had walked up to them, had also heard his words. Kushida, in particular, had a strange glint in her eyes.

Horikita turned back and walked up to Tatsuya.

Her height barely reached his shoulders, as Tatsuya was quite tall.

She looked him straight in the eyes.

"What do you even know about me? Know your place and don't assume about the lives of others."

Her expression was calm, but she was practically hissing while speaking, which shocked Kushida the most.

Tatsuya matched her gaze and smirked, "Did I say something wrong? Someone who's only chased a shadow all their life, I can't help but think you're sad."

"You know a lot for someone I don't know. Are you a stalker or something?"

"Stalker? Hilarious words, Suzune~ Why would I even stalk someone like you?" The disdain in his voice was pretty apparent.

Kushida, Ayanokouji, and Hasabe were shocked by this change in Tatsuya. He was kind, amiable, and never insulted anyone.

Did he have some history with Horikita?

Hasabe obviously didn't believe Horikita's words about not knowing Tatsuya.

She felt a bit uncomfortable.

Ayanokouji just looked on silently, while Kushida felt her heart pounding hard against her chest but didn't let others know.

'How much does he know?' Her eyes narrowed.

Horikita just stared at him with eyes full of coldness, "Don't call me by my first name. You are detestable."

She walked off, no longer willing to converse with him.

Tatsuya didn't talk back this time and just shook his head before turning around.

"Ah, hey Ayanokouji. Having a date with Kushida-chan, eh?" His voice had a teasing undertone.

Ayanokouji hurriedly denied it, "Nothing like that, I was just helping Kushida-san become friends with Horikita-san."

Hasabe couldn't hold it in, "Looks like that worked out perfectly."

Kushida laughed off the sarcasm while rubbing the back of her head, "Heh, I guess I'll have to try later. I just don't know why she's acting like that."

When she said this, she subtly glanced at Tatsuya's face, trying to read his expression.

But unfortunately, Tatsuya's face didn't change.

"Well, what can we do about it? Let's not talk about it further. Want to join us for coffee, Ayanokouji-kun and Kushida-chan?"

"Ah, sorry, I already have plans to attend to. How about later, Tatsuya-kun, Hasabe-chan?"

"Ah, sure," Hasabe quickly said and looked towards Ayanokouji.

Ayanokouji, who was about to agree, happy that his friend invited him for coffee, was stumped by her gaze.

With his shoulders slightly slumped, he said, "Sorry, I'll have to leave as well. Forgive me."

Tatsuya waved his hands, "No worries, no worries, see you both later."

Tatsuya and Hasabe went and ordered coffee, while Ayanokouji and Kushida seemed to be having a talk by themselves.

...

On the other side, Horikita, with her bag in hand, walked towards the dorm rooms with a frosty expression.

'Who does he think he is?'

It didn't take her long to reach her dorm. She pulled out her ID card and swiped it against the security pass.

Her door opened, and she clicked the lights on. She looked at the empty room, lost in thought.

'Who does he think he is?'

She placed her bag on her table and removed her clothes.

She was wearing a whitish-blue bra with matching panties. Her breasts were just the perfect size, and her slender legs could leave men drooling.

Her fair skin was unblemished and her exquisite face created a symphony of beauty.

She lifted her fair foot and placed it in the bathtub, then lifted her other leg and slid down into a lying position and let the warm water relax her body.

'Who does he think he is?'
