44 Chapter 44: Playing God

In the sky above his planet, Harry stretched his hands out and focused. With so much energy available, he could complete his idea in one night instead of doing it bit by bit with his small reserves. Additionally, he already had the most important part to create intelligent life ready: the soul. This was the part he understood the least and took massive amounts of energy for his current self to create.

But first, he had to do something with the negative emotions that clung to the souls. If he created new lifeforms with them, he wanted them to be like newborns unaffected by their previous lives. Emotions were also energy, and his Sacred Gear didn't care what form of energy it used, but it couldn't create energy out of nothing. He couldn't simply transform his demonic power into negative or positive emotions, lifeforce, or any other form of energy. So it would be a waste to use this specific form of energy he had a bit of for this project if he didn't have any way to create more in the near future.

The souls would regenerate over time, but for negative emotions, he would have to create a mechanism that caused and harvested them in the new lifeforms he would create. Since he didn't have a plan to do something like this in the near future, he decided to store the energy from the emotions for now.

Therefore, he had to create a few additional dimensions that he could transform into completely different planes in the future as part of his universe. Harry had already roughly calculated how many souls he would need to create one dimension, approximately one million souls per dimension. He needed at least three different dimensions.

Focusing, Harry invested three million souls in creating three separate dimensions that were completely empty at the moment but separated from the main space where the main planet was floating.

For the first dimension, he separated the energy of the negative emotions from the souls, leaving them in a pure state, and stored them there. If he were to enter that dimension, he could feel the effects of the emotions, putting him in a dark state of mind or even uncontrollable rage.

Using a bit of his demonic energy, he turned the second dimension into a sunny place with a nice blue sky, similar to the main dimension but without the day-night cycle. Next, he levitated the important islands and sent them into that dimension, letting them float in the middle of it. The islands he sent there were his Tower, Noir's Biotope, the Troll Biotope, Norberta's Island, and his Garden. These were all islands with things he brought from the outside that he hadn't yet had enough to include in the main dimension or were his belongings that he wanted to keep with him.

Luckily, the trolls were male and female. The larger one he found in the Mirror Chamber was male, and the smaller one that attacked them in the bathroom was female. Besides their body size, there wasn't much difference in their appearance. But with some luck, they would reproduce in the future, and he could send some of them into the main dimension.

Lastly, all that was left was the third dimension, which would become the most important part of his plan. It would be named the Dimension of Truth, where the main Gate of Truth connected to him was located. Currently, it was a vast empty white space. Harry imagined all the functions he wanted his Gate to have and began to create it as the souls began to be consumed at a rapid speed.

Firstly, the gate had to be connected to himself, acting as a storage extension for all his knowledge. Having it as an extra storage was important so that his brain would never be overloaded with all the additional knowledge in the future. Next, he created an artificial spirit from a soul connected to his subconsciousness, which would maintain the gate and all its functions with limited authority. Essentially, it was an emotionless AI that would solve problems and manage this dimension while asking Harry for important decisions.

He gave the spirit, which he would call Truth from now on, the task and ability to create a sub-gate of truth for any newborn being in the main dimension. These sub-gates would have the following tasks: adding all the things the being with a gate of truth learned to the main gate belonging to Harry. Once the being with the gate died, it would open, swallow the soul, and transport it to the Dimension of Truth before the sub-gate dispersed and fused with the main gate. Additionally, there were some small functions that Harry could activate, like forcefully giving them new knowledge if he ever wanted to inspire them to study new stuff.

With that, he had a system in place that allowed him to learn a lot of new things without having to do it himself, and it only cost him 5 million souls, leaving him with slightly more than 12 million remaining. All that was left was to create the first civilization responsible for studying.

Landing back in the main dimension and observing the planet, all that was left were a few relatively empty islands with a bit of vegetation. First, he created a massive continent located in the middle of the different islands.

In the center of that continent, he created a rudimentary city with enough housing for a few million people. He also placed warehouses there with tools, food, clothes, and similar items so that they had their basic necessities covered from the start. In the center of the city, he placed a stone building, a large library modeled after the Great Library of Alexandria, with a copy of his own library. He omitted the manga and other stuff for now, but he planned to add more books in the future.

Next, he populated the rest of the continent with plants, animals, and natural resources. The city was surrounded by lush forests with many berry bushes, mushrooms, and other harvestable food sources. Multiple plains, ideal for constructing farms, were also nearby.

Having invested a few million souls to create the basics of this civilization, all that was left was the people themselves. He modeled them after wizards, allowing them to learn wand magic, although they didn't have the materials for wands yet. But there were other possibilities to use magic, and the knowledge of how magicians practice magic was also available in the library.

He created an equal number of women and men, making them similar to humans, wizards, and witches from his own world. But he gave them an inherent desire to learn and discover as part of their natural instinct. Whether it was science or magic, they would pursue all of it. Since the natural laws were the same as in the outside world, Harry would be able to use anything they learned.

Finishing up, he placed the 5 million unconscious people all over the city and used the small gates of truth that his spirit, Truth, had given them to impart basic knowledge like language, writing, numbers, information on food, hunting, growing, and, lastly, what the library contained. Now they had everything they needed, and Harry was left with less than 1 million souls, which he sent back into the Truth Dimension so that it could be used to keep the system running.

Once the first people began to wake up, he disappeared from inside his Sacred Gear and arrived in his room. It was in the middle of the night, and he was exhausted. "Phew, with that done, it's finally time to sleep," he muttered as he fell into his bed.Once the first people began to wake up, he disappeared from inside his Sacred Gear and arrived in his room.
