24 Chapter 24: First Day, First Week

Being dismissed from the Great Hall the Ravenclaw first years were guided by a female Perfect, called Penelope Clearwater to their Common Room. The entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room was located on the fifth floor, on the west side of the Castle. They had to climb up a spiral staircase until they arrived at the top where a door without a doorknob or keyhole was waiting for them. A Bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle was the only remarkable feature on that door.

"Different from the other Houses our house doesn't use Passwords." Explained Penelope as they stopped in front of the Door, "To gain access to our Common Room you need to answer an Riddle given by this Bronze Knocker. Ravenclaw values Knowledge and Wisdom, and that's why she chooses such a system. If you get it wrong you will have to wait until someone else comes and answers the Riddle! So who wants to try it?"

"What has an eye, but cannot see?" asked the bronze knocker, and the first years began to think. After a few moments, Hermione's eyes lit up as she said, "A needle!"

"Correct." Said the knocker as the door flew open revealing the Ravenclaw Common Room. It was a circular aerie room with graceful arched windows that punctuated the walls which were hung with blue and bronze silks and a midnight blue carpet covered in stars, which reflected onto the domed ceiling. Multiple blue tables with chairs, and a Divan furnished the Room. On one side of the room was a small library with shelves filled with books. Next to a Door leading upstairs stood a white marble statue of a Woman, that Harry assumed was Rowena Ravenclaw.

"This is our Common Room. The Door leads to the sleeping area, inside are two staircases the left one is for the boys, and the right one leads to the Girls' dormitories, Boys can't go up there or the stairs turn into a slope. On the bulletin board beside the Library, you will be able to find different Announcements." Explained Penelope as she lead the first years into the Room, showing them the important details, "Our Library has a nice collection of different books on topics that are related to classes, and other generally interesting topics. On the shelves on the right side you can see numbers, they are indicating for which years classes the books are. On the other side, you will find other interesting books. It's managed by Professor Flitwick who is our head of House. If you have any troubles that a perfect can't solve you can go to him. His Office is on the seventh Floor!"

Seeing the Library many eyes lit up, "On Fridays after Dinner we have tutoring sessions for the Students from years One to Four, some older Students who are preparing for their Exams are holding them, so they can refresh their Knowledge of the old topics and help the younger years out. So if you have open questions or troubles I would join them. Breakfast starts at seven, and goes on until the lessons start at nine. You will receive your Schedule there tomorrow from Professor Flitwick. If you shouldn't remember the way down, I will be leading a group tomorrow at point seven down." Finished Penelope up before she showed them their respective sleeping rooms and wished them a good night.

Harry shared his Dorm with three other boys, they were Terry Boot, Anthony Goldstein, and Michael Corner. The Room was quite Spacey and had four four-posters bed with nice Blue and Bronze curtains. Their Room had a beautiful view of large parts of Hogwarts, they could spot many things from the Windows. After introducing each other and talking a bit, they entered their respective beds as all of them were quite exhausted from the long Journey and all that excitement.

After closing his curtains Harry pulled out his Devil phone and made sure that it was working without problems before he sent a short text to Rias. Then he turned also in for the night falling into the world of Dreams.

"There, look."

"Where?"

"At the Ravenclaw table!"

"The kid with the Glasses? Is it really him?"

"Did you see his face?"

"Did you see his scar?"

"No, there is no Scar!"

These were the things Harry heard all morning as he left the Common Room towards for breakfast, 'I am really a Celebrity. I will have to live with all that attention for now.' He sighed internally as he ate his breakfast.

"What are you sighing for?" asked Daphne with a smirk as she arrived with Tracey, Hermione, and the other Ravenclaw first-year girls at the table.

"Just the attention is a bit bothersome." Replied Harry as he drank his Orange Juice, which he was happy to discover that they had too, since all that Pumpkin Juice last night was a bit much and monotone.

"Let's hope it will get over soon. You coming back from the dead was quite the shock for many." Said the Indian-looking girl sitting beside Hermione.

"Yeah, that's probably right. I am Harry by the way as all of you probably know. And who am I speaking with?" he asked introducing himself to the other girls in his year since he didn't have a chance to talk to them yet.

"Ah, I am Padma Patil. Nice to meet you."

"I am Lisa Turpin." Introduced the girl next to her after Padma.

Followed by an Asian Girl, "My name is Su Li." And last but not least, "I am Morag MacDougal."

"Where are the other boys?" wondered Tracey as they finished with introductions. Wanting to meet them too.

"They are on the way, it may take them a while." The other boys in his Dorm weren't quite the morning People as they had trouble waking up. Harry was different in that regard since once again Grayfia made sure at home that neither of them would waste their day by sleeping late.

After a while the three other boys arrived at the Breakfast table and exchanged introductions with the Girls. As they finished with Breakfast and chatted with each other learning more about their year mates, Professor Flitwick arrived with their Timetables.

They needed quite a lot of time to find their Classrooms and learned that way quite a bit about the Castle, especially who they could ask for help like most of the Ghosts or the living Portraits, and they never should trust Peeves the local Poltergeist with any directions, since he would use the opportunity for a Prank on them. Mr. Filch for being the Caretaker in the Castle wasn't a great help either, since he would spend more time suspecting and threatening the Students instead of actually helping them out.

For being so deathly, it was quite easy to stumble into the Corridor while looking for the correct Classroom. Good that the Door was locked. But besides some monitoring magic, Harry didn't feel any further protection on that Door. Even a first-year should be able to unlock that Door since the appropriate Spell could be found in their Charms Book.

His Classes meanwhile were quite slow for Harry's tastes, since they are mostly covering the fundamental Theory behind magic, and some very simple Spells that Harry managed to figure out on his first night after getting his Books and Wand.

But he already expected that Classes would be much slower than he was comfortable with. For the first week, he spent a lot of time reading the books in the Common Room, after he finished his Homework. They were quite useful in expanding his knowledge of the things he learned in Classes, giving him better fundamental Knowledge on Wizarding Magic.

For now, he didn't want to rush too far ahead of the others since he didn't have a complete overview of the planned Coursework this year and didn't have all of his classes either since the week wasn't over.

Quite a lot of his time, outside of Classes and reading was spent exploring the Castle, it was quite big. It had a similar size to Gremory Manor, but the most exciting thing was the hidden secrets. There are many hidden passages to discover all over the ancient Castle, and Harry had quite a blast finding the many different secret passages. With his sharpened Magic Senses he had quite the advantage in finding them, but figuring their entrance condition out was quite a hard task.

Still, that way he had an easier time than the other first years navigating through the Castle.
