2 Beginning of Life

Less than a minute.

Inside the space, he watched Terra complete 8 rotations, but outside the space, not even a minute passed.

And while he didn't notice the passage of time inside the space clearly, being unable to feel hunger, thirst, or lethargy, he was still sure that the time he spent there was much longer than a minute.

Time was vastly disproportional, which brought both pros and cons.

The pro was that he didn't have to wait too long to see results from his experiments.

The con was that, during the moments he was outside the space, he might miss many important events occuring in the planet.

Obviously, that wasn't a good thing.

But, he managed to move a planet, so perhaps he could try to alter the time within the space.

❄️❄️❄️

A long table spread before him, stretching into the darkness, it's end nowhere in sight. On both sides, hundreds of chairs lined up, but there was only him sitting on the main seat.

In front of him was a golden platter and a single fork.

A cold wind blew, causing the sole candle's flame to flicker. The shadows in the corners of the room danced coquettishly.

Why was he here? He seemed to think hazily.

At this moment, an invisible hand lifted the cover of the platter, revealing a single eye the size of his head on a plate.

Then, he finally knew why he was here.

It was time to feed.

❄️❄️❄️

Blue walls covered in various paintings of strange creatures, tall windows slightly open and decorated with dark curtains, and the floor blanketed by fluffy white carpet akin to a bear's fur.

Maybe it really was bear's fur. No one knows, truly.

In the middle of this spacious room, was a bed much too big for it's small occupant, and right now, said occupant was currently in the middle of rummaging through a drawer filled with journals of various colors, messing up the poor house elves' hard work.

"Where is it..." With furrowed brows, Ymir sat amidst scattered journals. He remembered having just written on it the night before and placing it in the drawer, but when he woke up, it had suddenly disappeared.

The house elves knew not to enter his room while he was sleeping, so just where could it have gone? It couldn't have run away on its own.

"This one, sir?" The house elf in charge of cleaning the manor, Holz, presented a green journal to him, the one which he used to record his observations on Terra.

But, that wasn't what he was looking for.

"No, I'm looking for the blue journal." Ever since he started getting those strange dreams, he made sure to record them immediately after waking up so he wouldn't forget them when his mind cleared up.

The blue journal contained the description of all his strange dreams during the past three years, including sketches of the creatures which appeared sporadically.

Ymir sighed and rubbed his eye. What a pity.

The dream from last night felt important, but now, even if he found the journal, he wouldn't be able to write it down anymore since he had already forgotten what it was.

He should have written it down on any piece of paper he could find immediately instead of stubbornly trying to find the journal.

"Young Lord, your eye! You mustn't scratch it!" The house elf, upon seeing the redness in it's master's eye, shouted.

It was only then that Ymir realized the he had been rubbing it for so long.

"Oh- this..." His words trailed off. Somehow, he felt as though he was about to remember something that had to do with an eye, but the memory was elusive and refused to be grasped. "It started itching while I was sleeping."

"Is it the pollen, sir? Or dust?!" Holz, like most house elves do, began to overthink. "Please don't worry! Holz will clean roomz at once!"

And just like that, the house elf turned into a whirl of motion and spells, determined to clean every nook and cranny in the room.

Amidst this chaos, Ymir sat in the middle of his journals.

"Maybe it's the pollen..." He muttered with a blank expression, the corner of his eyes catching something blue hidden in the shadows under his bed. "Oh, there it is!"

At last, the missing journal was found!

Under the bed, the shadows waved mischievously.

In the vast and empty space, the dwarf planet Terra revolved around the yellow star, Pueri.

Farther away from Pueri, some distance behind Terra, was a newly discovered asteroid belt, now named as the Glacies Belt.

Glacies, Latin for ice, as the majority of the asteroids in this belt contained ice as well as Iron, Nickel, and Cobalt.

A fortunate discovery to be held as the thing Terra lacked most was water. So, upon ensuring that no harm would befall the young planet if these asteroids were to land upon it's surface, an experiment to introduce water to the planet immediately commenced.

Three asteroids were first introduced, each spanning less than thirty meters in diameter, and weighing at around 2.5 tons.

Upon entering the planet's atmosphere, they immediately began to break apart, with pieces scattering to different places, before crashing onto the surface.

At first, it could immediately be seen that the ice was rapidly melting and evaporating, but, after watching for a whole revolution, it seemed that no condensation was formed.

Which meant that the water wasn't enough to form clouds. If there are no clouds, there won't be enough coverage to block the heat of the sun, which meant that surface temperature wouldn't be cool enough to create rain.

Therefore, more asteroids were needed to bring water to Terra. And so, a rain of asteroids was soon put into motion.

Now, 32 large asteroids later, the first blanket of clouds was formed, and soon, came the first rain.

The first thing to be noticed when the first drops of rain hit the hot rocks, was the formation of steam, showcasing just how hot the rocks really were.

Though, with the cooling brought by the rain, the steam were quickly turned back into water.

It should be noted that the rain lasted for a long time, persisting non-stop through two whole revolutions before slowly easing up.

By then, bodies of water had formed within the dips and fissures from when the planet had previously split apart.

And, with the surface temperature having cooled down noticably, the strange yellow mist had also receded. But, it hadn't disappeared completely.

Now, all that's left to do was to wait for Terra to stabilize before slowly introducing lifeforms into it.

❄️❄️❄️

There. Under the table.

Oh, it's gone.

Wait, no. It appeared again in the corner.

Ymir blinked slowly, eyes concentrated on the Daily Prophet Newspaper in his hands, making it seem as though he were reading it seriously, but in truth, he was actually looking at something else from the corner of his eyes.

There. It's playing with the journal again.

Said journal, the same blue one which disappeared briefly this morning, was placed on the table, within reaching distance from where he sat. And, playing with the pages of the journal, was a strange shadowy tendril.

He had been seeing this shadowy creature for several days now. Ever since he finished the painting of the Adumbrali.

Though, most of the time, it would just play around at the edge of his vision, borrowing his things to play with and returning them shortly after, but it never appeared so close to him, until now, that is.

So, not wanting to miss his chance, he slowly angled his body to face the shadowy creature without startling it and-

'Chii! Chii!'

With speed no one could comprehend, he managed to capture the unknown creature in his grasp.

It was small, around the size of his shoe, with no definite form and looked like it was made entirely of black tentacles.

Strangely enough, despite it's appearance, it actually didn't feel slimey. If anything, it actually felt like cool, smooth skin.

'Chii Chii!!!'

And it chirped like a bird.

In conclusion-

"It's cute." Ymir smiled, raising the creature to his face to get a closer look. "How about becoming my pet, little Adumbrali?"

'Chii?'

"I'll treat you well."

01-Terra

Observation Entry #6

After the failure of the first experiment to introduce life into Terra, with the failure being caused by the lack of water and food, not enough oxygen, as well as the planet's high heat, I have come into terms that the planet was simply not fit to host life just yet.

So, after introducing water and various minerals into Terra, causing the now cooler temperature on the planet's surface, and ensuring that the overall condition was stable, it is now time to finally introduce it's first inhabitants.

Plants.

Because the oxygen content in the atmosphere was still too low.

On another note, soil and dirt samples on Earth were also deposited and scattered in various locations to promote the growth of bacteria and microorganisms.

In order to ensure that they wouldn't die out, food remains were also placed nearby on regular intervals.

After several revolutions, the amount of fertile soil had rapidly increased. In fact, it was so fertile that weeds had already begun to grow before the plants had even been formally introduced.

The vitality of weeds is astounding.

But, now that soil had been created, comes the hard part.

And that was actually introducing plant life and ensuring that they stay alive.

And because I had yet to figure out how to adjust the time in this space, it was a lot trickier than one would think.

So, in order to make it easier for myself, I had chosen plants that didn't need much work to grow.

Which were, beans and grass.

The weeds didn't count because they chose to grow by themselves.

Immediately, after several rotations, it became clear to me that I actually didn't have to think too much.

In a very short duration of time, both beans and grass grew lush and healthily. The grass even started bearing fruits already.

... But, the grass I planted was Bermuda.

If I remember correctly, Bermuda grass didn't bear fruits. Nor did they grow to more than three meters in length.

And the beans seemed to have turned their pods into eyeballs.

This is strange.

Upon checking on the stray weeds, I had realized that they had somehow managed to grow into towering trees before I noticed. Giant trees with strange golden sap dripping from the cracks of their bark.

Just how did that happen?

Entry End

❄️❄️❄️

The sound of hooves running briskly resounded.

Towards the dark sky, grey smoke floated in a spiral.

And below him, he plunged into pitch black ink.

In this ink, were blinking stars and strange whispering shadows.

But soon, the stars turned into eyeballs and the whispers grew into shrill screams.

Drawing nearer, the eyes stared at him in interest, curious about this strange intruder.

They know all that he knows and more, that he knew for sure. And for sure, he too knew, that if he so wished, he would in turn know all that they knew and more.

Follow. They whispered. Follow and open your mind.

Don't think. For a filled mind cannot contain it all.

Only when your mind is empty, will you be able to own it completely.

Take it.

Visions of the past, the present, and the future, overflow.

Take it, this gift.

❄️❄️❄️

"Young Lord, the letter from Hogwarts has arrived." Glas's calm voice gently shook him awake.

With eyes still hazy with sleep, Ymir slowly blinked, neck aching from having slept on his desk. He didn't even know when he had fallen asleep.

"..." He yawned and gave his personal house elf a lazy nod. "I see. I'll look at it after dinner. You may go."

As the house elf popped away, he reached into the drawer for his journal, but what he grasped in his hand was something that felt much harder and heavier.

Bound in red leather and bronze embellishments, with a single large eye in the middle which looked like it was always staring at him no matter which angle it was viewed from, it laid at the top of his drawer, pushing all his journals to the bottom.

Another book? Where do they keep coming from? He thought to himself as he gave it a cursory look, then immediately proceeded to take out his journal and began writing quickly.

Book of Revelation?

From the corner of his eye, he could see the bookshelf beside his desk which was filled with many books similar to it.

54 such books in the shelf, now one more. In the past three years, they appeared out of nowhere. And while he did love books, he just wished he knew where they came from.

He sighed.

Unnoticed by him, the corner of his cuff was stained in ink.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore

(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc. , Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)

Dear Mr. Schreiber,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Yours sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress]

On the 30th day of July, the awaited Hogwarts letter finally arrived after five whole days of waiting.

Apparently, all Hogwarts owls were delayed by something and they could only resume work today.

Well, he supposed that he should be grateful it even arrived before the cut-off date. Pardon, he meant less than a day before the cut-off date. How polite of them to give him a whole 8 hours to send them a reply.

Ymir Schreiber was a patient child.

He was so patient that he was able to bear waiting for his father to come back home for more than three years. Ongoing.

So, nearly a week of waiting for his letter to arrive was nothing at all to him.

In fact, the wait didn't bother him at all. He was so unbothered by it that he didn't even bother to write the reply himself.

He left that to his house elf.

Yeah, first impressions of Hogwarts wasn't going well.
