7 Chapter 6. Girls Ate The Devil Fruits, Nami Didn't Get Any

After returning to the ship, he found those 2 sisters still sleeping in their respective rooms so he decided not to disturb them.

So he jumped down on the shore and began to practice with his devil fruit. He kept manipulating the seawater to check the current limit of the area he could cover now using his devil fruit powers.

The water area that he could manipulate was equal to the entire island on which he was standing currently. Slowly, he tried to increase the limit, wanting to take a step further in the development of the fruit.

He kept doing this type of training till the evening while making sure that his ship didn't get affected by it. It was quite taxing on his body however he felt happy when he felt cracks appearing on the ceiling which had stopped him from awakening the devil fruit.

Now, he jumped on the ship as the girls were awake. It was also time for them to meet the 3rd member of their crew. Tonight was going to be a lot of fun.

"Morning, sleepy heads." Alex greeted the sisters with a smile on his face while peeling a tangerine for himself.

"We slept again because of you, devil….!!" Nami growled with a hateful expression, rubbing her sore arms.

"Kick ground for 10 times in the blink of an eye. You said that it won't be painful, captain." Nojiko also gave him a look of betrayal which made him chuckle in amusement.

"Get ready, we are going to see the 3rd member of the crew." Putting a slice of tangerine in his mouth, he closed his eyes in relaxation, making the girls grit their teeth.

"Bastard!" Nami cursed him once again, seeing how leisurely acted in front of them. Turning around, she began to walk inside the ship once again. "Let's go, Nojiko. Unlike him, we need to take a shower."

Nojiko followed her sister inside the ship, not before glaring at Alex once again. If he wasn't her village saviour and her captain, she would have bitten him to death.

After 20 minutes, the girls came back on the deck, wearing the same clothes as before, however, the previous dirt marks on their bodies were nowhere to be seen.

Giving them a thumbs up, he climbed down from the ship, followed by the girls who were talking among themselves, still irritated with their captain.

Walking down the streets of the village, he took them toward the giant mansion where Marry, the oldest butler was waiting for them.

"You must be the young lady's new friend, Alex, right?" Marry asked with a small smile to which Alex simply nodded. "The young lady has been waiting for you for a long time." Saying that he motioned them to follow him inside the mansion.

Nojiko and Nami weren't interested much in the village as it was quite similar to their village however the giant mansion was indeed very dazzling for them. The fact that a butler was leading them inside made them smile, especially Nami.

She has seen many large mansions in her 8 years of travelling all alone. Since she was someone who never stole from civilians, she had never entered such a large mansion.

The girls kept looking around the mansion curiously while talking among themselves with small smiles on their faces.

After walking for some time, they finally reached the kitchen area where Kaya was already waiting for them at the dining table.

"Shouldn't you be in your room? You are still sick, Kaya." Alex asked with a narrowed gaze, mirrored by the old butler.

"I wanted to see the other members of your crew, Alex, so I decided to come downstairs today." She replied with a smile and turned to look at the other crew members. "My name is Kaya. I want to become a doctor. It's nice to meet you two." Introducing herself with a polite smile, she beckoned them to take their seats.

The sisters looked at each other before walking toward the dining table. They took their respective seats on the left and right sides of Kaya before they all began to talk about girl stuff.

Seeing them getting along, Alex smiled slightly and took his seat as well. Since the beginning conversation has been good, he was sure that the girls would be able to get along even more in the future.

Marry went inside the kitchen and began to instruct the servants to serve food for everyone at the dining table. The empty dining table was now starting to fill with various kinds of dishes which all looked quite delicious.

Everyone at the dining table began to eat their shares of food however the conversation among the girls didn't stop. Only Alex was the one who ate his food quietly.

"By the way, where is Kuro?" Alex suddenly asked, making Kaya frown at the mention of that name. Even though he could sense the guy, he still decided to ask her.

"He said that he is sick so he decided to take a rest tonight," Kaya informed with a displeased expression. Since she knew about him now, she was never going to believe his words.

After the dinner was over, the girls immediately went into Kaya's room and asked about this guy who made Kaya frown. Kaya hesitated for a moment before she decided to tell them about him.

Standing up from his seat, he walked toward the window and began to look outside of the mansion where multiple plants were planted. 

He stood there for some time before he began to walk upstairs. It was time for him to give them their devil fruits so they could fight tonight.

Without knocking, he entered the room only to see them sobbing while holding each other's hands. "You three….!" He didn't know what to say about this. "I thought you three wouldn't cry anymore about your past but I guess I was wrong."

The girls hurriedly wiped off their tears. "I'm sorry." All of them said in unison causing them to look at each other before they burst out laughing. The previous depressing atmosphere was immediately gone, making him smile.

Closing the door, he took out the two devil fruits from the system and placed them on their beds. The sisters immediately recognised it however the same couldn't be said about Kaya who looked at those fruits in confusion.

"Alex~~~" Seeing those devil fruits, Nami's eyes immediately turned into dollar signs. With a big smile on her face, she walked toward him. "Which type of devil fruits are these two?" Hearing her words, Nojiko facepalmed while Alex began to chuckle in amusement.

Ignoring her sister as if she isn't related to her, Nojiko turned toward Kaya and began to explain to her about the devil fruits much to Kaya's shock. She had only heard rumours before but now seeing those things in front of her, was quite stunning for her.

"One of them is Mythical Zoan type while the other one is a Logia." His words caused Nami's smile to widen in happiness. Alex immediately took a step back, finding her expression very creepy.

"There are only 2 devil fruits here…." Nojiko unconsciously muttered and met the gaze of Kaya who instantly backed away a little.

"Don't worry, Nojiko. I'm not interested in them." Kaya tried to lessen her fellow crew members' worry. Even though she was interested, she knew that she had joined the crew after them so she couldn't be greedy. "I like swimming very much so I don't want to lose my swimming skills."

"How much money can we get from selling these two?" Nami asked with an innocent expression as if she didn't care much about those devil fruits.

Well, it comes to money, Nami doesn't even look at her surroundings. Shaking his head, he looked at her with a serious extension. "We aren't going to sell them, Nami. You don't want someone to eat them and come to kill us in the future, right?" A frown appeared on Nami's face when she heard those words.

"Who said that I'm going to sell them? These are yours so how can I sell them?" Her words were full of innocence, making him laugh at her greed.

Ignoring her words, he walked forward and raised his two hands in front of Nojiko and Kaya, much to later surprise. "These two devil fruits suit you two the best. Go and eat them, remember that their taste is very disgusting." He didn't even look at Nami who kept saying it was a waste of money.

Kaya glanced at Nami and felt that it wasn't nice for her to eat the devil fruit, however when she looked at those firm eyes of her captain, she immediately swallowed back whatever she was planning to say.

The two girls took the strange-shaped fruit from his hand and took a small bite of it. Their expressions immediately morphed into disgust.

"Disgusting…!!" They immediately yelled while trying to spit out the fruit from their mouths. Alex was sure that he could even see some tears in the corner of their eyes.

"Hehe…" Nami kept snickering at their miserable expressions, making them glare at her with a fierce look causing Nami to shut her mouth instantly.

After some time, the girls finally calmed down and began to inspect their bodies, looking for any kind of change. Nami also came near them, wishing to see their powers.

"I didn't feed you some weird fruit so stop the meaningless searching," Alex spoke with a stern expression, making them chuckle nervously. They were expecting some physical changes to happen however they forgot that not every devil fruit changes the physical aspects.

"Kaya, listen here." Alex turned to look at the sick girl whose pale face was gradually changing for the better. "The mythical zoan devil fruit that I gave you is called Hito Hito no Mi Model Angel. It allows you to become and use the power of an angel."

"I can become an angel….?" Kaya muttered with a dazed expression. Her lips curled up into a beautiful smile. After all, which girl doesn't dream of being an angel in their childhood?

"Damn…." Hearing the description of the devil Fruit from Alex's mouth, both Nojiko and Nami couldn't help but feel envious. Though none of them let it affect their mood, they both happily congratulated Kaya and asked her to reveal her wings.

"Being an angel allows you to manipulate light for attacking and as well as healing. You must have started to feel good, right? The devil fruit is already working on removing the poison from your body." Alex explained to her with a calm expression. The healing was one of the reasons why he gave this fruit to her. "Close your eyes and try to feel if something is flowing inside your body. If you manage to find it, try to bring it out from your palms."

"I understand." Closing her eyes, she tried to feel whatever flowing thing was inside her body. She kept trying for 5 minutes before she finally felt a very small warm energy.

Opening her eyes, she started to call it out however she kept failing. Not caring about her multiple failures, she tried again and again, finally revealing a gold light through her palms though it disappeared quickly. 

"I did it, Alex!!" She yelled in excitement, trying to bring it out once again and successfully did it. "My body seems to be getting better and better at every moment." Her eyes revealed a lot of joy when she felt her vitality returning, making her weak body better.

She suddenly took a step forward and hugged Alex. "Thank you, Alex. If it wasn't for you, I don't even know if I could live past this year…." Tears began to form in the corner of her eyes however she forcefully stopped herself from crying because her captain doesn't like her crying.

"We are still here, Kaya….!" Nojiko decided to interrupt the happy moment. For some reason, she doesn't seem to like Alex hugging someone else. It was quite a strange feeling to her right now.

Kaya immediately separated from Alex and lowered her head in embarrassment much to the amusement of Nami who kept giggling while looking at the shy Kaya.

"From now on, you need to practice controlling that light," Alex ordered her with a stern expression to which she nodded seriously. "Good, now go and start practice to get familiar with your devil fruit. After all, you are still very far away from achieving the hybrid form." Kaya nodded at his words and went a little away from them to continue to practice with her new powers.

Alex then turned to look at Nojiko who was pouting for some reason. Not caring about it, he began to tell her about the devil fruit. "The devil fruit that I gave you is called Mori Mori no My, a Logia-type Devil Fruit which allows the user to create, control, and transform into plant life at will."

Nojiko frowned slightly for a second however it was instantly replaced with an excited smile. "Does this mean that I can grow Tangerine with this power?" She instantly began to focus on her arms from where a tree branch began to appear along with tangerines on it.

"Haha, this is such a good fruit, Nojiko." Nami congratulated her sister and plucked the tangerine before she began to peel it hurriedly.

After it was peeled off, she gave one slice to everyone and began to eat it. Everyone's eyes brightened at the same time as it was very delicious.

Though before anyone could say anything, Alex immediately raised his hand, making them shut their mouth. "Nojiko, from now on, you need to read about different books related to plants. For now, you can go and try to create strong branches with it."

Looking at him with a narrowed gaze, she removed the branch from her hand. "I need to read from now on…. It would be so boring…." She silently complained under her breath and tried to create more normal branches.

With this done, Alex turned to look at Nami who had a very calm expression. "Don't worry, Nami. I haven't forgotten about you. It's just the devil fruit that I want to give you in the Grand Line so can you wait for so long?" What he said was indeed true, the devil fruit that he was talking about was already eaten by someone.

"Like them, would you give me the best devil fruit suitable for me, right?" Nami asked in a calm tone to which Alex nodded with a smile. A bright smile appeared on her face when she saw him nod. "Then I'm willing to wait for it, Alex. It's not like we are going to stay in the East Blue for a long time."

Patting her head lovingly, he glanced at everyone before he began to speak in a severe tone. "We are now going to practice for some time cause tonight, we need to fight for our lives."

"Huh????"
