6 Chapter 5. Meeting Kaya

After telling them about the so-called basic things he left them, not before making them train in Soru technique which resulted in exhaustion again. Though he knew that he needed to increase their physical power first before they could execute such a high-level move.

He told them about the constant change of weather on the Grand Line. He also told them about Log Pose and Eternal Pose which surprised them a lot. He also gave a detailed lesson on devil fruits and their type.

He originally planned to remove the tattoo of Nami and Nojiko by using his devil fruit powers however, he now understood that it was impossible. After all, his devil fruit only works on non-living things and he was sure that cells can be considered living things since they are a part of a living body.

Since he was on the verge of awakening his devil fruit, he decided to practice for some time every day. Though for now, he decided to see a sick young woman who was going to be the doctor on his ship.

Walking through the streets of the village, he met those children again. Though this time there was a worried expression on their faces. He asked them about the sudden mood change, and they told him that their captain might be hungry as the other villages are quite far away and he didn't take any food with him.

He told them that Usopp was a strong man so he'll be fine. After some minutes, he finally reached the place where the mansion was located. "It's very big compared to what Anime has shown in the past." No wonder Kuro was willing to be a butler for so many years just so he could inherit this property.

Since he was here to meet Kaya, he used the observation haki and found her weak presence inside a room. Using his quick speed, he climbed over the wall and headed toward the tree from where he could see inside Kaya's room.

"Are you Kaya? The person who is trying to become a doctor." Sitting at the branch of the tree, he curiously looked at the blonde girl who looked quite beautiful even though her face was pale due to the sickness.

"You are….?" Kaya didn't shout in surprise, instead, she asked him calmly. There was even a hint of curiosity in her tone.

"My name is Alex. A newly became pirate who came out of the village." With a small smile, he introduced himself while putting his hand on his chest and bowing a little causing her to giggle.

"How's the outside world? Is it beautiful and fun?" Kaya sat on the bed and looked at him curiously.

"The outside world is very beautiful. Sailing on the sea is a lot of fun especially when you explore the different villages." Alex replied with a big smile which caused her eyes to brighten in excitement.

She normally listens to Usopp's words and knows that he always lies to her. After all, just like her, he always stays in the village so how could he know about the outside world? Though this was different for Alex who was travelling in the outside world, she easily believed his words.

"Why are you looking for me though?" Kaya suddenly asked curiously. She was sure that no one knows her in the outside world which would mean that he decided to come to her after hearing about her from the villagers

"I need a doctor on the ship so I came to pick you up." Alex simply told the truth, prompting Kaya to giggle.

"You want to bring a sick person on your ship? Won't I become a burden on everyone on your ship?" Kaya asked with a sad smile on her face. She too wanted to see the outside world, alas, her sick body doesn't allow her.

Alex simply shook his head, making her confused. "I can cure you, Kaya, however, I can only do it if you decide to join my newfound crew." What he was saying was indeed true. He could cure her by giving her that devil fruit, however, if she changed her mind after eating it, he would have to kill her to get that precious devil fruit back.

Hearing his words, Kaya's eyes immediately widened in shock and as well as happiness though it was immediately replaced by an unhappy expression. "I can not join your crew, Alex. I can't leave these people who have raised and taken care of me for such a long time." 

"Hmm, that's a problem….." He muttered under his breath. "What if you could take them with you? They don't need to live the life of a pirate, however, they can still follow you." Alex gave her more choices, planning to make it difficult for her to reject him.

"This….?" She was confused now, not knowing whether she should agree or not, however, in her mind an image of a special person came, making her happy. "I still can't go with you, Alex. At least not before, my friend Usopp goes to the sea."

"Usopp? He already left in the morning. You didn't know about it?" Alex asked with an innocent expression making her eyes widen in surprise. "Those three kids said that Usopp was quite close to you so he might have told you about his sudden departure." Alex immediately took his chance to add some hurtful words.

"He didn't tell me..." Kaya muttered with a miserable expression. They were so close to each other yet he didn't say anything to her before leaving so suddenly. "Did anyone hear what he said when he was going to sail?" She asked with a hesitating expression.

A smile appeared on his face however he instantly hid it and began to tell her what he had heard from Usopp's mouth when he was walking toward the ship.

"I see…." At the end of hearing his words, Kaya's eyes began to turn red. She was forcefully stopping herself from sobbing at the sudden betrayal. "Could you please go back right now? I'm starting to feel very dizzy and need my medicine." She asked with a pleading expression to which he nodded.

"By the way, Kaya. I came here for another reason…." Alex spoke with a serious expression. "A very famous vicious pirate had started to work here for some unknown reason. I'm going to take him with me to get the bounty placed on his head."

"A pirate in my mansion….?" She tried to think of anyone who acted strangely in the past, however, she couldn't find anyone. "Are you sure about your words? None of my servants looks like a pirate." She already got one big surprise but now, it seems that there was going to be another surprise. 

"He seems to be coming into your room right now. Try to act like you are sleeping, I'll handle the rest." Alex said to her with a serious expression to which she nodded and lay on her bed, facing the other side of the room.

The door was opened and a guy with a butler dress entered the room. He was wearing d-shaped spectacles. "Who are you? Why are you in Lady Kaya's room?" Butler asked with an anxious expression.

"Don't worry about her, Kuro. I have already knocked her down." Alex smiled slightly at the butler who was now looking at him with a glare. "How does it feel to work like a dog for such a naive woman just to inherit this mansion?"

"I don't understand what you're talking about," Kuro spoke in a trembling tone, holding himself back from attacking this unknown guy. His words were too humiliating for him.

"I see. I must have gotten the wrong person then." Alex said with a smile and proceeded to jump down from the branch however he suddenly turned around and looked at Kuro with a mocking smile. "By the way, I killed the crew of the Kuro including that Jango guy."

The moment Kuro heard those words, he instantly moved forward while taking out two large claws from his pants. "You bastard should die for ruining my grand plan." Though the moment he tried to slash at Alex, a punch fell on his chest causing him to fall back and cough up blood.

"I don't want to kill you so soon, Kuro. How about calling back your pirate group so you could at least put up a decent fight against me?" With a mocking smile, Alex spoke those humiliating words for Kuro, making the latter grit his teeth in anger.

"I'll make you pay, bastard. You chose the wrong opponent to play with. I am called Kuro Of The Hundred Plans for a reason." Saying that he wiped off the blood from his lips and began to walk outside of the room.

"What do you think of his words, Kaya? Do you still doubt my words?" Alex walked toward the bed and sat on it while looking at the girl who started to sob.

Hearing his words, Kaya began to cry loudly. She had a very close relationship with Kuro as he had raised her for a long time yet she was betrayed by him. Doesn't this mean that his affection for her which he showed in the last three years was all false?

She kept sobbing as she lost herself deeper in those negative thoughts. Alex who was watching her couldn't help but rub her head affectionately. Her body trembled for a moment however she didn't say anything.

"How long are you gonna cry like a baby? You are gonna join my crew and I don't want a girl who can't even control her emotions." Alex softly muttered with a small smile, gently patting her head.

She didn't stop crying however he could tell that her voice was slowly getting down. Noticing this, he kept saying soothing words to her which resulted in her gradually calming down.

"In my crew, everyone is gonna live like a family, at least the people who want to appreciate the feeling of a family," Alex spoke with a smile and stood up, ready to go after Kuro. "You shouldn't feel bad. It was their choice to get separate from you, not yours so you should give them the same treatment. After all, we are a group of pirates." Those words were not directed to Kuro, they were directed to Usopp as Alex knew that Usopp had a special place in Kaya's heart.

In the future, he was sure that Usopp would come to Kaya and will try to clarify the wrong things that Alex had told everyone. Alex needed to slowly make her lose her feelings for that long nose guy so, in the future, there wouldn't be any chance of betrayal.

He could have killed that guy easily, however, wouldn't it be a lot of fun to see Usopp's expression after he gets killed by his sweetheart even though the words he told her were true?

"I understand, Alex-no, Captain," Kaya replied with a serious nod and stood up from the bed, cleaning off the tears using her cloth sleeves. "I'll go and see Marry now. He might get attacked by that pirate." Saying that she climbed off the bed and began to walk toward the gate.

"Don't try to take foolish actions, Kaya. No matter how much you hate him, in the end, he is a very dangerous pirate, at least for you." Warning her with a serious expression on his face, he jumped down from the window and flew toward the place where Kuro was right now.

"I understand Alex but…." A hint of coldness flashed through her eyes before they returned to normal. She walked back to her bed and began to search through the drawers to find the pistol that was given to her father.

"I'm going to use it for the first time, father…"

The Syrup village had two ways to enter the village. One was from where Alex and other people come while the other one has a big cliff so it isn't possible for anyone to enter the village that way.

This was the perfect place for a pirate like Kuro to meet his subordinates as he could easily jump down and climb up the cliff.

"Listen, you three, I want you to go back to the ship and tell Jango to come here before the evening. I don't care how he will manage that; however, if he doesn't come with other crew members, I'll kill him." With a furious expression on his face, Kuro began to order his three subordinates who were working in the village and acted as his informers.

"We understand captain." The three guys immediately replied in unison with a frightened expression. They never saw their captain in such a bad mood.

"That long nose bastard ran away, however, this new kid came to challenge me. I'll make sure to kill him with my own hands." Muttering under his breath with a furious expression, he began to walk back to the cliff, not before taking a deep breath. Instantly his entire murderous aura was subdued and it was replaced with a calm aura.

After he disappeared from the cliff, Alex flew down from the sky with an amused expression. "Typical pirate of the weakest Sea. Does he think that quantity is better than quality?" Shaking his head, he looked at the small boat which was slowly drifting away.

With a burst of speed, he flew toward the boat, grabbed two people and flew back to the shore. Throwing those two guys to the ground, he took out 2 devil fruits that he had gotten from Shiki's treasure room.

Throwing those two devil fruits at their fruit, he looked at them with a cold gaze while using a little bit of Conqueror haki which immediately scared them. "Eat this." He didn't need to say anything more as they immediately began to chew on those two devil fruits.

Using his devil fruit power, he lifted two small stones from the ground and pierced their brains with them, getting the familiar system notifications.

"Nice. With this, the standard weakness of these two devil fruits is gone and I can finally give them to Nojiko and Kaya to speed up their speed of training….."
