28 Chapter 26. A Ship From Sky

After sailing for three days straight, Daz finally managed to reach his destination which was the 27th branch of Marine Headquarters. A Marine base that was located on an island called Kuma.

Docking the boat at the shore, he jumped down from it with the dead body in his hands before he began to walk toward the Marine base.

The Marine officers around him noticed him however no one said anything or even asked about the dead body. It was a regular occurrence for them since a lot of bounty hunters come to their Marine base with dead bodies.

Entering the Marine Headquarters, he walked straight to the place where the other bounty hunters were present and were exchanging pirates' heads with money.

"The Killer D-Daz Bonez!!" One of the bounty hunters shouted with a shocked expression.

"What? The famous Killer from West Blue is here?

"Of course, he is here, you idiot. He has been active on the Grand Line for more than 3 years."

The rest of the bounty hunters immediately gave him space to let him go first. For bounty hunters like them, he was their idol, a cold and ruthless man.

Daz nodded at them before walking toward the Marine officer who was collecting the dead bodies. Without saying anything, he threw the dead body toward the officer whose eyes instantly widened in shock after seeing the dead body.

"T-The Marine Greatest Stain Gasparde….?" Hearing his loud voice, everyone turned to look at the dead body and then hissed in shock.

"That guy has a bounty of 95 million berries!!"

"You fool, the bounty is not that surprising if Daz is the one who hunted him down, however, it is still very shocking since that guy had a Logia devil fruit….!"

"Logia devil fruit? Doesn't it mean that he was invincible?"

"Of course not otherwise how could Daz be able to kill him?"

The Marine officer calmed himself and ordered one of his subordinates to bring the bounty.

"I don't need the bounty, I'm here for another reason," Daz suddenly spoke with his stoic expression. "I want to join the Marines. Tell me if it's possible, otherwise just hand me the bounty."

"This…..?" The Marine officer was very surprised after hearing those words. "I'll have to contact my higher-ups for it. You would need to wait for some time." Saying that he stood up and walked back into one of the rooms behind him.

One of the Marine officers held the dead body and then took it to another room while another officer took Daz to some distance away and gave him a chair to sit on.

The bounty hunters began to talk among themselves after hearing Daz's words. His reputation for bounty hunting was spread through the entire West Blue and the Grand Line. So for him to join the Marines, will affect a lot of other bounty hunters who admire his work.

"Your Majesty, a person had just appeared outside of the palace. He says that he is sent here by Lord Alex." One of the royal guards bowed slightly while speaking in a respectful tone.

"Alex sent someone….?" Dalton mumbled with a surprised expression. "Send him in." He ordered the royal guard in a calm tone.

After Alex had left the Drum Kingdom, there was no King so the people decided to make Dalton the King. Doctor Kureha approved of this as well along with the other doctors so no one had any problems with him being a King.

After some time, the Royal guard once again entered the main hall of the palace along with a young blonde man. He was Koza, someone who was sent here by Alex for an important reason.

"My name is Koza, your highness. I'm someone from the Arabasta Kingdom who is sent here by Lord Alex." Saying that he took out the envelope from his pocket and handed it to the Royal guard who immediately took it to the King.

With a curious expression, Dalton opened the envelope in which a letter was placed. Opening it, he began to read it carefully and began to laugh out loud when he was done reading it.

"He is still the same….." Dalton muttered under his breath while chuckling amusingly. He glanced at Koza with a small smile. "He wants me to appoint you to a good position so you can train the soldiers which would help us in case a pirate attack like before happens in the future."

"Lord Alex had informed me about that," Koza spoke calmly and then turned to look at the Royal guards who were present in the hall. "Does your highness wish to verify my strength? I can fight anyone from this Kingdom without getting a single injury."

Seeing his confident look, Dalton shook his head negatively. "If you are someone sent by Alex, I'm sure you wouldn't be weak. I don't believe that he would send someone who can't even defeat my soldiers." Dalton had a lot of trust in Alex's judgment so he didn't think that it was necessary to test Koza's strength.

"You can stay in the palace. I'll make sure to assign a good position to you very soon." With those words, he motioned to one of the guards to take the new guy to an empty room.

"Say, are you sure that you would be able to defeat all of us while fighting alone?" The Royal guard asked with a curious expression.

"Haha, it's very much possible especially when I have eaten a Logia-type devil fruit." Koza chuckled and answered with a confident smile to which the Royal guard nodded.

On the Going Merry, Alex was sleeping while his head was on Kaya's lap who was happily caressing his head.

Robin and Nojiko were inside the library and were reading different books while sipping on orange juice occasionally.

Nami was at the backside of the ship, watering the Tangerine tree with a small smile while eating a tangerine at the same time.

Tashigi was inside the living room with her sword out of the sheath. She was cleaning her sword with a small smile on her face.

Suddenly a medium size seagull appeared above the ship. It was wearing a hat with a bag on its shoulders which was filled with newspapers and bounty posters. There was another small bag hanging on their neck in which they put the money.

Alex was sleeping and suddenly opened his eyes and stood up before walking toward the figurehead of the ship. He looked at the flying bird and whistled loudly, attracting its attention. 

The seagull instantly flew down and took out the latest newspaper along with the new bounty posters before giving it to Alex who took out some money and put it inside the small pocket.

When the seagull was about to fly again, Alex gestured for it to stay. "Tell Big News Morgan that The Warlord Alex wishes to meet him. I have a lot of news that would excite him very much." Saying that he walked back to the sofa while opening the newspaper.

The seagull nodded its head as if it understood his words before flying into the sky once again.

Alex quickly looked through the newspaper however he didn't find anything interesting. Though at the last page, there was a small mention of Daz Bonez and how the former bounty hunter plans to join the Marine.

Seeing it, Alex couldn't help but chuckle a little bit. The only reason he was sure that Daz would be able to join the Marine was because of this. Since this news has spread on the entire sea, if the Marine rejects him, the other pirate groups and other organizations would start looking for him cause now, they know that the famous bounty hunter wants to join some organization.

And if this happens, the Marine would become clowns in other eyes because they let go of such a strong man who joined someone else and became the enemy of the Marines.

Handing the newspaper to Kaya, he put his head on her thigh and began to look through the multiple bounty posters in his hand. After seeing the last 5 bounty posters, he couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. "The plot armour is still there….."

Those bounty posters belonged to the main characters of this world:-

Straw Hat Luffy- 90 Million berries.

The Pirate Hunter Zoro- 40 Million berries.

The Blonde Chef Sanji- 20 Million berries.

The Sniper Usopp- 10 Million berries.

The Fanboy Bartolomeo- 5 Million berries.

He wasn't sure how Bartolomeo managed to join the crew two years early, however, he could guess the reason behind it. Among these people, no one was a navigator so the plot armour helped Luffy by adding that guy in the straw hats pirates so early.

There was no mention of the crimes that they committed to get such high bounties even though he took all of their encounters. Though knowing their personality, he was sure that they must have fought with some kind of vicious guy who was suppressing some town.

"Kaya, wanna see a bounty poster? You know this person." Alex calmly said and handed the bounty poster to her who curiously looked at it however her expression soon changed into extreme disgust.

"I don't wanna meet him anymore." She spoke in an angry tone and ripped apart the bounty poster. "He should be thankful that I didn't meet him otherwise he won't be able to continue his adventure on the sea."

Alex simply chuckled at her words and motioned her to continue her assignment. Her previous expression immediately changed into a delighted one as she began to caress his head once again with an affectionate look on her face.

"If he has started to sail so early, doesn't it mean that she must have started as well?" He muttered under his breath, thinking about the girl who uses a pipe as her weapon.

It seems that he would need to head back to East Blue in the future. There are certain things that he needs to accomplish there.

After some time passed, Nami came to deck with a frustrated expression. "Alex, look at this Log Pose. It doesn't seem to be working properly." She spoke in an irritated tone while looking at Log Pose whose needle was pointing toward the sky.

"What happened?" Nojiko and Robin also came out of the library and looked at her with confused expressions.

"The Log Pose is pointing toward the sky for some reason," Nami explained to them. "It never happened before."

"Posting toward the sky?" Robin mumbled with a thoughtful expression. "It should be pointing toward the legendary Sky island. A Log Pose can never be wrong on the Grand Line, always keep this in your mind."

"Sky Island…?" Nojiko looked at her with a surprised expression. "Is it possible for an island to float in the sky without needing to use some kind of devil fruit ability?"

"I don't know about it either. Though there are rumours about the Sky Island being real." Robin herself wasn't sure about this however if the Log Pose was pointing in the sky, it means that there is something there.

"There is a Sky island. We'll be going there very soon." Alex finally spoke in a calm tone to which everyone nodded, a little excited about exploring such an island.

While they were discussing among themselves, a ship suddenly fell from the sky some distance away from their ship. Everyone immediately walked toward the figurehead to look at the sinking ship.

"There might be some treasures in this ship, alas, who would even go to look for it in this sinking ship…..?" Alex mumbled in disappointment, looking at the sinking ship with a look of pity.

Before anyone could say anything, Nami instantly jumped into the sea, much to everyone's amusement except for Robin who looked at her with a stunned expression. "I-Is she not afraid of sinking along with the ship? She is a devil's fruit user…."

"Sinking in the sea for being a devil fruit user?" Tashigi mumbled with a confused expression; however, she soon realized what Robin meant. "Well, it's quite strange, to be honest. Except for me, everyone has eaten a devil fruit yet none of them shows the typical weakness of getting weak in seawater. Since it was always like this, none of us asked him about it."

Hearing those words, Robin's shock grew even more. "If the World Government or those biggest pirates came to know of this, you'll get hunted down by them for your entire life." Robin turned to look at Alex with a solemn expression on her face, she has been living such a life since her childhood.

"I know that too, Robin. That's why I'm creating an Empire for myself, gathering people who will support me in the future when I'm against the entire world." Alex spoke with a casual smile on his face, not thinking much of it.

Robin nodded at him, a little impressed by his thought of dealing with enemies like that. She glanced around herself and found that it seems to be working since he gathered these utterly devoted girls.

Nami came out of the sea with a depressed expression while carrying a small box in her hands. She jumped on the ship and then began to open the box only to find an old map inside it with the name Skypiea.
