1 [Fate Online]

"Everyone is dying to hear about the news so might as well five right in, the world's highly anticipated VRMMORPG [Fate Online] will be launched tomorrow!" A very calming sweet cute female news reporter said with a slight smile on her face, but if one looked closely they would notice overwhelming excitement.

Her co-anchor on the other hand wasn't the same as she had a silly smile plastered on her face as she tried to calm down, "[Fate Online] has been dangled and circulated in the entire world! There isn't a single person that doesn't know about it! We've been waiting over 8 years for its servers to finally open. A new era of VR Gaming!"

The calm female news reporter nodded in agreement, "[Fate Online] is a second world essentially. Full of beautiful scenery and wonder for anyone to explore, even its snowy landscapes just like in real life. The Developers from Destiny Company also revealed its first A. I into the game. In trailers that have been teased to us showing how advanced they are, basically humans at this point."

The excited one beamed another dazzling smile, "Tomorrow at 12 AM the servers will be launched and open, it will be a very hectic day for the Destiny Company as many people will be going in at once; with sales of over 300 million VR Helmets flying off the shelves!"

"[Fate Online]... A New Era!"

-------------

Somewhere in a city called Snowfall

Snowfall was a beautiful breathtaking city with modern architecture and snowy landscape, surrounding a lake covered in ice.

Everything was covered in snow, multiple skyscrapers piercing through the clouds.

Everyone who walked through the streets had calm, joyful expressions plastered on their faces as they enjoyed their life, but a few who were walking stopped and paid attention towards a certain skyscraper with a digital screen covering one side of its building like a massive tv.

Everywhere you looked that contained screens, the news was present on it; as passersby looked at the screen with excited faces.

In a crowd looking at the massive digital screen was a white-haired young man whose hair blended in with snow was standing in the crowd watching and listening to the news. He had heaven-defying beautiful features, sharp yet delicate white eyebrows, snowlike skin, with light blue eyes. Anyone could mistake him for a girl, one thing that certainly didn't help was the smooth skin that was flawless like jade better than any female around him.

Even by standing doing nothing, he garnered attention from passersby but the young man didn't notice as he remained focused on the screen.

Drake Nyx Echo

He was 18 years old, like anyone his age he should be in school, but he dropped out of school for reasons unknown to the world.

"Hey watch... oh sorry beautiful, I would invite you for drinks but I'm in a hurry."

Drake was broken out of his daze by a man who bumped into him as he got asked out as he watched the guy taking off. Instantly his light blue eyes changed as his right eye turned orange and his left eye turned dark green, shocking many people around him. The color of light blue represented his calmness while his right orange eye meant irritation and dark green for disgust.

His eyes remained that color for a few seconds before turning back to light blue, he simply turned around and started walking.

- Crunch

- Crunch

- Crunch

Every step he took crushed the snow underneath his feet releasing a crunching sound.

Drake walked for a few minutes before stopping in front of the store with a sign on the window; [VR Helmet 36% OFF!]

The store that held the sign had many people waiting, while many exited the store with excited smiles with boxes in hands and a helmet that read 'Echo Technology' on the side.

"[Fate online]... might as well I guess..." Drake said with a smile on his face as he entered the store.

The area where VR Helmets were being sold was packed as it was the only place that had customers.

Drake could have just walked up to the counter and ordered the helmet by giving a special code made for his family for free but that wasn't his style so he simply waited. When there were fewer people he grabbed a simple-looking helmet that read; [342$ - 36%]

He bought the helmet and exited the store, his family was the only family that could get free helmets as it was two helmets per person in the code, the first claim of the person was allowed all the way to Legendary VR Helmet, and the second claim allowed only to Platinum. Anything after they had to buy the helmets, Drake thought it was unnecessary and opted to pay for the basic one.

As he was walking his eyes turned yellow meaning he was curious, and he was curious of the new world he was about to enter. Then his eyes returned to their natural light blue color.

Leaving the area he started walking home in steady steps, as he never showed any signs of imbalance even though he was wearing black tech shoes, instead of winter shoes.

It took him about 30 minutes to reach his neighborhood, even walking so long in the snow he didn't show signs of exhaustion, his body was slim yet athletic but it carried a delicate aura around it making everyone's protective instincts kick in.

As he arrived in front of the gate there was a marbled slab on the gate that read; [Echo Estate]

There were two guards in front of the gate.

"ID" One of the guards said with a neutral face but one could notice a deep hatred in his eyes as he looked at the young man before him.

"Open the gate, Nick," Drake said, not moving an inch as he looked at the guard as his eyes turned yellow with green stripes representing mockery.

The guards made an ugly face but hid it immediately before opening the gates, albeit very slowly.

It took four minutes for them to open the gate.

Drake entered the estates and ignored the guards as his eyes returned to light blue.

The estate was breathtaking, it was a gated community or neighborhood built by his family. All the houses were mansions with very large yards and their own fences and gates. All the mansions were very modern like, while the cars driving in the neighborhood or parked were the highest end on the market currently; but it was a common thing here.

It was weird for him as no matter where he looked whether it be cars or homes it was controlled by his family, as his family controlled the technology field, along with one of the most major banks in the world.

Drake walked for another 15 minutes until he reached a certain mansion, it was even more amazing than the other mansions.

The mansion held 6 floors; 4 floors above ground and 2 underground, with a large front yard and backyard. Its main color was black while its secondary color was white, it was surrounded by tall gates with a beautiful sleek metal-coated black.

Drake walked towards the gates and turned to his left where a camera was located and held up an L sign above his forehead which meant 'Loser', of course, it was all in good fun as he had a stupid sense of humor.

instantly the gates opened, and Drake entered the yard covered in white snow and beautiful marble statues.

There was a beautiful medium size pond that was covered by ice in the center of the yard, giving the yard another kind of divine feeling to it.

Drake opened the door and entered the mansions.

The interior was as celestial as you could imagine.

The floors were a beautiful white marble with black filings, while the walls were a light gray.

The furniture was new, while paintings covered the wall.

There was a floating staircase coated black leading to the second floor a dozen meters away from Drake, in front of him was a spacious room with a smile table in the middle.

On the right side of the first floor was a massive modern kitchen and on the left was the dining room and living room.

Drake simply took off his tech wear shoes and put them gently on the shoe rack and started heading up to the second floor quietly.

"Drake? Where have you been?"

Suddenly a voice interrupted him, making him stop instantly and making him turn around.

A beautiful white-haired middle-aged woman peeked from the kitchen like a prairie dog.

His eyes turned pink as he looked at his mother gently, pink meant love.

"I went for a walk, mom"

His mother, Alice, became worried, "Why? it's not safe for you."

"Yes, mom." Drake sighed.

Alice dropped everything and went up to hug him but stopped when she noticed him carrying something, "What's this?"

His eyes turned dark pink meaning playful, when he noticed his mom looking at the VR box, he gave her a playful smile, "It's a VR Helmet, I got curious on the walk when I saw the news and got curious."

"[Fate Online]?" Alice was surprised but understood why he was interested, though she doesn't know if it's a good or bad thing.

"Yes, it seemed interesting." Drake said with slight excitement as his eyes turned light purple before turning back to light blue.

Alice smiled before she narrowed her gaze as she scrutinized the box, "Why did you get the cheap one when you can have the best one for free?"

Drake went silent, "Because... I wanted to..."

"Let me call the store and we can get you the Legendary one."

"Moommmm... don't besides it might be a waste." Drake pleaded even though his eyes remained blue.

Alice looked at her son before she grabbed his face and started mushing and squeezing it, "Drake Nyx Echo, I will never understand you" she said with amusement but full of love and care.

She then gave him a peck on the cheek before returning to the kitchen.

Drake just released a chuckle before ascending upstairs all the way to the fourth floor and entering his spacious room.

The room had a massive bed that could fit 6 people.

There was a large smart wardrobe and a large smart desk next to the window. There was a black chandelier hanging from the ceiling matching the color of the walls.

Next to his wardrobe was his private restroom colored white and gray.

The walls even though black were covered in papers from different types of drawings and ideas that covered two walls. On his desk even though very organized there were multiple drawings and ideas and papers.

Drake put the VR Helmet on his desk and started unpacking it. After he was done he put the box on the floor and grabbed the helmet.

It was a black helmet with a light gray visor.

Drake was happy with the helmet he purchased.

The VR Helmet was the most basic one, Bronze Class.

There were five classes in total; Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Legendary.

The Bronze has a lot of limitations, but Drake figured he would be bored in a week.

After one week he would always get bored and quiet, exactly like every other hobby he tried.

Drake put the helmet back in the box and stuck the box in his wardrobe with his shit load of clothes that were tech wear style.

He walked back to his desk and put his finger on the right bottom corner of the desk where a black screen laid, tapping it multiple stars lit up.

Drake moved his finger dragging it on the screen very fast like a blur before a clicking sound was heard from his cabinet. It was a code made specifically for him, that had 4 different combinations each belonging to a specific cabinet.

The cabinet he opened revealed many many notebooks. He grabbed the top one and put it on the desk, before he tapped the desk twice on the left side where a playlist of music became available, he scrolled for a minute before picking a song and putting it on loop.

Once the music started playing he opened the notebook and started writing everything he did today as long as what he noticed around him. He's been doing this for about 4 years and never stopped.

Drake wrote and wrote until half an hour later he stopped with the last thing in the notebook was him turning on the music.

After that, he turned off the music, closed the notebook, put it back in the cabinet which gained another click meaning it was locked; as the word lock appeared on the black screen on the bottom right.
