22 Chapter 22: Vs High-Class (3)

[Third Person's Point of View]

[Titan's Fist]

Augustus' opponent's fist flew towards his chest as he heard the sound of Lennox's voice in his ears. Normally, he would have disappeared, but this time, he made a conscious decision to stay put.

[Aegis of Infinity: Kinetic Absorber]

[Analyse]

The transparent barrier flickered and shimmered like a heat mirage as it encased Augustus' body. It appeared almost like a cocoon, providing protection as the powerful fist collided with his solar plexus. Space seemed to distort and warp as the barrier absorbed the impact, creating a temporary ripple effect before Augustus was launched backwards at an incredible speed.

Unbearable pain radiated from the core of his being while causing severe damage to his bones and nerves.

[Titan's Fist]

Lennox's bulky frame moved with surprising speed as his fist closed in on him once more. But one blow was all it took for him to get what he wanted so there was no need for him to get hit again.

[Teleport]

Augustus quickly blinked back to his original spot, narrowly avoiding a punch from a fist covered in red gauntlets

Carter lunged at Augustus with wild, bloodshot eyes. But Augustus was quick and agile, easily dodging Carter's heavy punches and retaliating with a powerful blow to the devil's face that sent him flying.

[Teleport]

Once again, he vanished with a blink of his eye, reappearing a hundred meters away from where he stood. Lennox, now fuming and having missed him twice in a row, was left standing alone.

'Strength at least comparable to Superman from DC Movie verse', came the result of his analysis.

Augustus already knew that he was a tad bit weaker than Lennox's base form in physical strength, only edging out in agility.

But now, whatever BS powerup he had in this short period made him even more of a monster. owing golden energy, similar to Touki but with its own distinct qualities, enveloped Lennox and granted him abilities on par with Earth's famous Kryptonian.

That's why he purposely took the punch head-on in order to accurately gauge his opponent's increased strength.

'Sigh, got no choice but to use that', With a heavy sigh, he resigned himself to using the spell that he decided to only use in dire situations.

[Arcane Acceleration: Two-fold]

Augustus's veins bulged, creating a network of pulsating blue and purple lines along his skin. Blood dripped from his nose, leaving a trail of crimson on his pale skin. As he engaged with Lennox, their movements were a blur of speed to everyone around them, creating shockwaves and sonic booms in their wake.

Lennox's body only had two vulnerable points or Kill-Lines. Augustus aimed his black blade at these precise spots, barely dodging Lennox's punches as he slashed. But Lennox's protective defence proved to be a strong one, causing the blade to simply graze his golden aura coat. Amid this exchange battle, Augustus was flung downwards as he took a hard hit to his shoulder.

He stabilized and healed his wounds while simultaneously retreating, blinking away whenever Lennox came too close. But as more of Lennox's peerage joined in the fight, the task became increasingly challenging.

"Need to keep them distracted", he murmured to himself and again cast a familiar magic.

[Multi-Cast: Kanzeon Lotus King]

With his magic somewhat regenerated from expenditure incurred from tanking the massive white destructive spell, he materialised twenty Bodhisattva Lotus Kings around him, as they worked together to keep the devils at bay, while Augustus concentrated on a particular memory from his previous world.

His spells were not working against his toughest adversary yet, and he knew he couldn't win the fight relying on his physical strength alone, so it was time to try out something new.

The use of the Arcane Acceleration was causing too much strain on his body, forcing him to end the battle before he blacks out.

'If magic doesn't work, science has to', He doubled down on his concentration, attempting to conjure up the magic that he had just studied from his recollection.

Up until this point, he had been relying on magic spells fueled by demonic energy to cast spells from start to finish, like a hand guiding a toy car from one point to another.

At the moment, he was trying to perform a spell that relied on demonic energy as a catalyst for the actual physical reaction. Essentially, it was like giving a gentle nudge to a toy car to make it move from point A to B.

Lennox possessed a strong natural resistance to magic, rendering him immune to most spells fueled by demonic energy. However, he remained vulnerable to spells that produced tangible natural consequences.

'In other words- Fuck You!'

[Synchronized Linear Nuclear Fusion]

High-density hydrogen plasma clouds over several kilometres in size zeroed in on their location from all four sides, as they were violently propelled forward from a few kilometres away. The clouds then collided in midair, resulting in a large-scale thermonuclear explosion.

The acceleration and collation were done as it was necessary to collide a myriad of protons constituting a plasma cloud almost simultaneously in a head-on collision.

The sky lit up into a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours, exploding with intensity as if the gods themselves had set off fireworks. The devils watched in awe and fear, witnessing the unfolding of an event that felt eerily similar to The Great Day of His Wrath.

Smashing through an obstructing Lotus King, Lennox and his peerage desperately rushed towards Augustus's location at full speed, but they were too late - their opponent grinned sadistically, waved his hand and disappeared in a blink, leaving them blinded by a sudden burst of light.

---BOOM

An explosion two times stronger than the strongest hydrogen bomb known to mankind lit up the sky above the little town of Ameing with blinding lights as a massive dome-shaped ball of pure thermonuclear energy expanded, engulfing the surrounding mountains and everything in its path.

[Aegis of Infinity: Elemental Ward]

A transparent layer of barrier spread off in front of Augustus and covered the entire town along with him just as the brutal shockwave of the blast hit them.

The distance between the site of the explosion and the town was enough for it to get levelled by the initial shockwave.

Augustus watched as the humungous ball of energy collided with the protective barrier, but by some miracle, the spell held strong but at the cost of draining an excessive amount of demonic energy compared to its usual consumption rate.

The buildings in the town swayed and groaned as the ground beneath them shook violently. The town seemed to hold its breath as a giant white orb of energy descended upon it, its destructive power threatening to flatten everything in its path.

The big white ball of death soon subsided with just moderate damage to infrastructure and - no lives lost.

But that couldn't be said for their surrounding. The once majestic and vibrant green-clad mountains of Ameing were now nothing more than a barren and desolate landscape. The skyline was filled with clouds of dust and debris, and not a hint of the mountains remained.

Augustus blinked at the location of the fight and saw a few dozen-meter-deep craters at the epicentre of the explosion. There, lay a single figure, his skin, blood and everything observable were charred black.

A flickering translucent white barrier covering his golden aura coat saved his life.

'Ultimate-Class defensive magic. Cast from a scroll probably', he noted as information entered his brain from his still-active analysis spell.

Despite his injuries, Lennox could sense the presence of his opponent's magic nearby. With great effort, he pried open his heavy eyelids to see the white-haired demon standing a few meters away, gripping a glowing bluish-white sword with both hands and preparing to slice him in half from above.

A charred black arm obstructed the path of Augustus' sword, now imbued with [Molecular Divider] from finishing off his opponent.

But the blade moved through the air with a swift strike, effortlessly slicing through the charred arm standing in its way. The arm fell away from Lennox's shoulder, but before the blade could continue on its path, he reacted quickly and pushed himself back against the ground, sliding several meters away from his attacker.

He looked at his left shoulder, or what was supposed to be his left shoulder, now vacant, with blood gushing down freely. Lennox felt very little pain having his left arm slashed off because nearly all his sensory nerves and pain receptors were burned off and irreversibly damaged.

But something more terrifying than pain gripped him.

Fear

He watched as the figure with piercing blue eyes swiftly moved towards him, sword at the ready to complete what he had failed to do in their previous exchange.

An intense, primal fear gripped him as he remained frozen in place, unable to escape the approaching presence of death.

'Is this the end? Am I going to die? No, no, no! I can't die yet---' He was frantically panicking inside until suddenly, something clicked in his mind.

The blade was just inches away from his head when the hold of fear finally left him as he balled his only remaining fist.

[Domain Expansion: Lion's Last Bastion]

Augustus' eyes widened in extreme shock, while his still active analysis showed him the expanding domain in great detail, prompting him to hastily cast an anti-domain countermeasure.

[Falling Blossom Emotion]

A myriad colour swirling demonic energy cloak constructed around Augustus' body as the domain finished constructing itself.

A large grassy plain with blue skies and a colossal fortress, with towering walls and an aura of invincibility at the end, surrounded Augustus and in the distance, a black charred figure floated above the balcony of the fortress.

The Balam Magic crest unfolded in the figure's right hand and a tiny vial materialised from thin air.

His analysis revealed it to be a specialized magic spell designed for storing a single object in space. He quickly cast his fastest magic spell; a large lightning arrow zoomed towards its target; the small vial. However, the arrow fizzled out harmlessly upon contact with its target. Without hesitation, Lennox opened the vial and consumed its contents.

Red flames enveloped him, dancing around his body as his charred skin peeled back revealing healthy unmarred skin beneath and the stump on his left shoulder regenerated back.

'Phenex Tears!!!'

With clenched teeth, Augustus strained to Teleport away. However, his calculations showed that his initial reserve of demonic energy was not enough to break free from the expanded innate domain.

Meanwhile, a fully healed Lennox eyed Augustus with burning hatred.
