56 The Comeback

Wassupp fools!!

I'm back...kinda.

Found a few new hobbies my interest in writing has kinda lowered. I still love writing but my new activities have really been changing myself for better. Self improvement and self growth is something I'm really using my time on nowadays.

I also got caught up with life and it's bills, I am now 21 years old now, this fool been out foolin around too😂😂 (I know, not too productive)

But I've also been reading and whatnot, thought I should also get back into writing.

A lot of things to do nowadays, I fee busy. Good kind of busy😂😲

And this chapter is rusty, like reeaallyy rusty. Not much creativity or thoughts put into it but I'll get better again every chap😁😁

•••••••••••••••••••

For the past week since he woke up from the ice, Steve has been put through many things whether it's a "debrief" about history or the significant changes throughout the past.

Other than that he has been going on checkups with a doctor that was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and going on a bit of therapy.

But the therapy is not much of a help so he was thinking of dropping it, but either way he only has a few sessions left so what's the point of stopping now.

The world changed a lot for Steve, so much so that there are concepts of ideas and things he never thought of.

For example; Wifi. Something which became almost as mandatory as couches in a living room, or a bed in a bedroom.

At first all he could compare it to is how a radio could connect wirelessly to other radios, but it wasn't long before he learned the basics of it.

That was how it was for most things.

Sure he woke up in a new age and there are many things new to him his whole life, and every agent or people that run into him try to introduce new things to him as if he was an old man trying to figure out which cables to connect on a dvd.

But what most people didn't know was that the serum gave him the capabilities of adapting to new environments and that includes even something like a phone or the internet.

The changes were obvious to his eyes but that's now what his mind is on.

His mind is in the past, this time he felt alone. Woke up alone and now also live alone.

For the day he traced his steps back to his home in Brooklyn, but not only did it have new residents it's also considered a sort of place of interest considering it was the home of Captain America.

The school in his childhood growing up was demolished before new public buildings were built on it.

One of the things that remained was the church he and his mother always went to where Bucky and Alfie also attended a few sessions as well.

A few people seemed to recognized when he was there but it wasn't anything chaotic.

Around noon he took a taxi about halfway to his apartment before he got out and started walking home just for the feel of it.

The Agency he woke up in has been more than helpful, a little too helpful. Almost not giving him enough space for him but Steve isn't worried much.

It's all understandable considering what he went through. People are careful and curious.

The apartment was nothing big or fancy and was in Greenwich, something the S.H.I.E.L.D. were able to get for him.

As he headed up the stairs to his apartment he paused at the door.

Not only were there classic country music playing but there were also sounds of someone frying, the smell coming out of his door made it more obvious.

A thought suddenly popped up in his head, and a figure also appeared giving him a familiar scene.

Sometimes after his mother passed he would often return home just to see one or sometimes two people in his house. One cooking and whatnot while the other spent time on the phone flirting and whatnot.

Though the scene was familiar, Steve still proceeded cautiously.

He lowered his body as he entered his apartment only to be met with a familiar voice.

"Welcome home, darling."

Steve stood in front of the door looking at Alfie McBride who donned a very manly pink apron.

"Alfie."

Steve whispered out with emotions mixed with relief and frustration.

"Why the long face? You act like we haven't seen each other in decades."

For the two it's only been a few weeks at best. For it was like a change of scenery, one moment full of war and chaos and the next scene a future with peace and color.

••••••••••

"We need to talk." Steve said with a serious tone, while he sat on the table and started eating a plate full of lasagna.

Priorities.

The only person that could make lasagna like Steve's mother was Alfie. He wouldn't throw away a chance to eat his favorite meal that reminds him of his mother.

"Now now junior, eat up. We'll talk business after."

"Where have you been? What have you been doing?" Steve paused to ask.

"Well I've done a bit of studying on history, made some new friends, thought about killing my new friends and then tried some delicious food from a "few" restaurants." Alfie said nonchalantly.

"There are people looking for you."

"S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

"They want to keep you in check, keep us in check, think we're too dangerous to move around on our own."

"I doubt that's all." Alfie said.

"What do you know?" Steve asked, back then Alfie would always have intel on any subjects of interest.

Steve knew Alfie would know something.

"Eyepatch is not as secured as he thought."

"Nick Fury? What do you mean?" Steve frowned, the spoon he held was placed down.

"That Nick you can trust...but him being paranoid is not such a bad thing."

Steve waited for something more.

"But that's not for you to worry about at the moment, right now I'm looking into something and it might need both our attention."

"You gonna keep me in the dark again or what?" Steve asked.

"You'll know soon. Just keep your shield shiny and wait for my call."

"Here." Steve pulled out a flip phone and handed it to Alfie, signaling him to put down his phone number in.

Without worrying about the percussion Alfie put his number down before making a joke about not sharing it to those who are looking for him.

It wasn't long till Alfie left after going over a few more topics of discussion.

But just a few minutes after Alfie left, a few agents ran inside Steve's apartment alarmed and cautious.

Steve wasn't surprised as Alfie informed him of how some agencies work nowadays. So bugging the house was now known to him.

•••••••••••••

A few days later in Ohio.

A S.H.I.E.L.D. base hidden in a forest just under a small mountain was in chaos.

The alarm went off as multiple bodies lay on the ground unconscious, and under the deafening alarm were two other common noises.

On one hand was the sound of weapons blasting out non-stop while on the other hand more muffled thuds, crashes and such sounded.

Deep in the base was a figure fully armored and unarmed while the many agents and security around ran around with weapons.

The figure itself is Alfie and he bulldozed each of these trained agents without much effort only using martial combat and skills.

He had his staff on his back which was retracted but even then he didn't use it, for him he didn't wanna go overboard and go lethal even though the otherside was doing so.

As Alfie proceeded forward with a quick pace he encountered more opponents, which was easily solved.

"He's right here!!" An agent yelled out and aimed a handgun at Alfie only for him to maneuver to the side, grabbed the pistol and struck an elbow against the agent knocking him out.

After that a series of other bodies dropped unconscious as Alfie changed the pace and started casually walking.

His goal in coming here was for some intel, about a certain situation some time ago. The thing about this base was that it's not just a S.H.I.E.L.D. base but rather a HYDRA base, at least that was what he was told.

A man who worked for Randall Ravens has been releasing intel about the killers of Stark and Peggy to Alfie.

And there were two names that he held on, one being Winter Wolf. Alfie couldn't help but scoff at such a thing, if he's right then he might know who this bastard is behind this name. That's why he's chasing this lead.

The other name goes by Phantom. How basic, he thought.

The name is often associated with Winter Wolf, like partners.

Alfie then paused in his steps.

"I guess it was true, two of history's greatest heroes have really been found. Alive at that." The voice of a man spoke which sounded a bit high.

The hallway Alfie was in, suddenly filled up with black geared agents from both sides. And behind the group right in front of Alfie was a man in a suit looking like the typical fancy boss.

"I don't know if it's really you behind the mask but, you have to know. You are a hero to many, an idol. Even to me I admire you and Captain America. So believe me when I say, I wish we could have met under different circumstances."

Getting a signal from the man, all the black ops pointed their weapons at Alfie where laser sights pointed at him.

"Please, Captain. Stand down and come with us peacefully."

For a perfect hot minute they stood there, waiting for the man's decision.

Alfie stood there with his eyes staring straight into the man. On the black side of the face mask was red, it was a HUD that was installed into the suit capable of a few applications.

It only served to touch peoples nerves on the outside.

The Agents in gear weren't too nervous, sure the man in front of them was none other than Alfie McBride who in history has always been called 'The Most Dangerous Man' but they weren't scared.

They have trained for almost their whole lives and went through many experiences so they were confident in themselves.

The man in front of them is basically old enough to be their grandfather, they are probably more capable than he is more or less.

"Very well, let's talk." Alfie said.

The man smiled thankfully and nodded. "Thank you."

He gave the signal for the others to put away their weapons as they did, one of the agents scoffed while one even raised an eyebrow in mock.

Thinking that him barging in and knocking down all these agents might just be a fluke.

"Alone." Alfie spoke again.

"What?!"

*TOOOOooossshhhhhh*

The power went out before they could make a move.

*BATATATATATATA*

"Make sure not to kill him." The man in charge of the base screamed out.

Rapid gun fires went on for a bit but stopped eventually seeing how they weren't hitting anything.

*PAH*

*THUD*

*POW*

*BANG*

Less than 5 minutes later it was silent, all the agents were down unconscious and Alfie stood in front of the man.
