" here is the money, thank you for taking care of my daughter, hopefully, she didn't make any problems when I'm away. " Celine said handing a couple of money to a woman.
" as your service aunt Celine, and also don't worry about me, lael is the most behave kid I know. " a young teenage woman next door said while smiling before she wave goodbye in another direction.
then Celine walks towards the door opening the doorknob before seeing a kid around 2 to 3 years old standing in front of the door waiting for someone, and suddenly the kid just runs her way to the lady in front of her.
It has been 3 years now ever since I have lael in my life, she has been my baby angel since then because whatever I come back from work first thing I will see is a little foot running its way to me and those carefree greetings ha... it just gives me a nosebleed.
" mommy...welcome back. " lael cheerfully said to Celine, before Celine kneeled while spreading her arm ready to carry 2-year-old lael in her embrace.
" Are you excited about your upcoming birthday lael?. " Celine said while kissing lael's cheeks. " mhmm…." lael hummingly reply and Celine just smirk.
" then since tomorrow is your 3rd birthday, what present do you want," Celine said while gently putting lael on the ground.
"I want a sword," she said while puffing proudly, and Celine just sigh in defeat before looking at her, ever since lael is still a baby back then when buying her a girly plushie or a doll she would bite the parts of or destroying it before she throws it away, but one day when I decided to buy her a shield plushie she just let it display in her crib.
I just look shocked when that happens, so when it comes to girly toys or dolls she will look at me while frowning, she is more likely to like toy weapons and ordinary things, lael also likes money.
" Alright... but it would be better if you will accompany me to buy your sword. " Celine said to lael while walking her way to the kitchen, and lael just follow her the way there.
" ok.. as long as you will surely buy me my sword," she said while looking at Celine dead serious before she smile and hug Celine's leg.
" love you, mom," she said innocently
Celine just look down at her blank, the way lael looked at me still give me chills it just frightened me when she looked at me dead in the eye, well maybe it was just in my head, and I just unexpectedly smiled while laying my hand in her head.
" love you too. " I reply before telling her to sit back and wait until the dinner is done.

it's now a cold afternoon winter, today is the day of my birthday and also the day the present mom promised will be bought
" lael are you excited. " Celine said happily waiting for lael to reply.
" uh-huh...cant wait to have my sword. " lael said while jumping happily to the narrow snow before she slip on the icy floor.
" lael be careful, I don't want you to get any bruises over your body. " Celine said with a concerned tone while helping lael get up.
" do not worry mother I'm lael the future brave warrior. " lael declared while looking up proudly.
" hahaha... you really have an extreme imagination. " Celine said while laughing before she take out all the snow that sticks in lael's winter coat.
after that long walk, we finally arrived at the pedestrian, standing there waiting for the pedestrian traffic light to turn green, when the light turned green mom and I did not hesitate to cross but when we arrive in the middle part suddenly a speeding car came running to us, luckily before the car bumped us I then push mom with all my might can get, after that, I inspect mom if she had any bruises but when I looked at mom's face she looked very shock.
I then widen my eyes in anger before I turn around looking at the car that is fleeing I then stand up while my hand move on its own, then suddenly a piece of ice that look like a niddle but was 5 meters long came running towards the car who suddenly the tires pop without cause before sliding uncontrollable in the street just then an ice spike stick into the lower part of the car to stop it, before the car stop I then came running towards it. " you motherfucker, how dare you run before what you did to my mom. " I cursed to his face when suddenly many people standing towards the accident while whispering before the police arrived then came running towards the conflict.
when unexpectedly one of the police kneel in front of me giving me candy to make me calm I just look at her glaring my eyes out before I jogged my way to my mother." mom are you injured anywhere. " I said still concerned while searching for a possible injury.
" Why are you worried too much lael, look mother is okay," she said still smiling even after this accident, I bowed myself looked down at the concrete floor and just nod, but when I see mom struggle to get up I was about to help her when suddenly the police that gives me candy who I did not take earlier give her hands to my mother so that she can get up.
" let me help you, madame. " the police said offering her hand to Celine, and Celine gladly accept the help while lael frowned in anger.
" thank you, officer. " Celine said giving a gentle smile to the woman that suddenly has bright beet red on her face. " ahem... your welcome madame. " the women reply clearing her throat while looking in the other way.
" tch...! " lael in the background let out in annoyance. " I know that she is flirting with mother. " lael thought in her head, before giving the police officer a dead stare on the back when suddenly a man came running towards them. " chef the investigation is now almost done thanks to the police force and also the man who started the accident is drunk by the way. " said the man while giving her the information.
" Thanks, officer Gerald you are now free to go." the woman who is the so-called chef said and also that man name Gerald is looking at me like he want to pat me on the head, I was about to curse him but I got interrupted by mother who is now standing elegantly.
" officer are we free to go since me and my daughter and need to go somewhere. " mom said like the accident had never happened a while ago.
" ah... yes but I still need to examine your ID
is that fine. " the woman said, without a word mother took out her ID giving it to the police the woman then gave it back to mom but before we parted way the woman give her number to mother and will inform her everything thing after the investigation is done, and just like that we parted our ways mom and I go to the store buying me a toy sword after that we have now arrived at the house before entering it.
" mom are you fine, we can forget my birthday party since today is a tiring day. " lael said while looking up at her mother.
" huh... what are you saying lael today is your special day, I just need some rest that's all. " Celine said ensuring her daughter, and just like that lael nodded in understanding before Celine picks up the child walking her way to lael's room.
when they enter you can see a well-arranged room, even if it has many toys while the other is sticking on the wall like a trophy and the wallpaper was elegant a star wallpaper and a black fur rag it's just luxurious.
" now-now rest for a moment, I will be in the kitchen. " Celine said while kissing lael's forehead before leaving heading her way to the kitchen ready to prepare dinner for the both of them.
lael on the other hand is still awake when suddenly a tapping noise can be heard on the window, just then lael turn her head before seeing a white hawk carrying something on his/her beak.
lael then stand-up and walk her way to the window before she opens it revealing a 3-foot tall hawk carrying an envelope.
the hawk then tilted his/her head before giving the envelope to lael while lael just look confused after what happened just then lael snapped when unexpectedly the hawk give her a peck on the forehead before leaving.
and just like that, she observed the bird flying away before it disappeared in the winter cloud.
looking down lael looks at the envelope with cold eyes before she opens it and reveals a letter and a golden bracelet with many unknown symbols, without any words lael put the bracelet on her wrist before she picked up the letter while reading it.
" dear, our child lael forgive us for not being able to greet you happy birthday in person but we have a special gift for you and you might now know it even if that bracelet looks ordinary it has a unique power in it, but will not give you any information about that thing because we want to test
you. " after that lael look confused.
" huh... our child...want to test me. " lael thought in her head with a dumb confused reaction before observing the bracelet but when she was about to take it off, the bracelet then transformed into a shield leaving a surprise lael, after that Celine then call leal for here downstairs.
" lael dinner is ready. "Celine's shout still had a gentle sound.
" coming mom. " lael shouted back, still looking at the bracelet with excited eyes.
" so cool..., I will test you tomorrow. " lael thought on her head before happily walking her way to the stairs.
