12 CHAPTER 12
The Lich grew increasingly anxious, its skeletal hand trembling. With determination, it muttered spells, and a swarm of undead creatures appeared. But it didn't stop there; it kept on summoning.
Until it lost all its mana and kneeled on the ground, laughing like crazy, saying, 'KEKEKEKE, Now let's see what you do, mortal. There are now thousands of monsters; even you wouldn't be able to defeat them.'
As soon as it said that, all the monsters rushed toward Ren—zombies, skeletons, and others—with full speed.
Seeing all these monsters, Ren didn't panic. He used his innate ability to extract a half-body ghoul in front of him. He was half-expecting it not to work, but to his surprise, the monster really did get extracted.
'HAHAHA, it seems I found your weakness. I can extract your undead minions since they're practically dead,' Ren taunted, extracting one monster at a time to avoid overwhelming himself.
Five minutes passed, and Ren had absorbed most of the monsters. The knelt Lich, drained of all its mana, was now in a panic, not knowing what to do.
'If only I had a bit more mana, you would have never been able to catch me. Fck, if only I knew your strength, I would have run the moment you transformed. I am so Fcking stupid.' The Lich cursed out loudly.
'Seems you're out of tricks?' Ren murmured, finishing off the last standing monster. Approaching the Lich, he disabled his abilities, reverting to normal.
'ARGHH, my head hurts a bit. This berserker skill took a toll on my body; it even made me more of a battle maniac on the battlefield. On top of the chaos was dangerous; although it made me instantly stronger, I felt like my body was damaging itself. Fortunately, my regeneration is strong, or I might look like this dagger of mine. Look, after I disabled chaos, the dagger broke and disintegrated,' Ren noted, observing the remnants of the tutorial dagger.
'Now, let's see what ability you've left for me,' Ren muttered. As dark blue energy emanated from his hand, the Lich broke into a sweat.
'Please, spare me. I don't want to die. I can't…' The Lich's plea was cut short as Ren activated his ability. His body ignited, reduced to ashes.
'Phew, that was quite the workout. I was worried for nothing; these monsters were weak as heck. Or maybe I'm just too strong. My strength triples when I activate my abilities. Although I sense that I can strengthen my body more, I won't risk it. As for the Lich, despite being LV:10, it was only good at using mana. Other than that, it was pretty weak,' Ren reflected, exhaling heavily.
'Now, let's check my status changes,' Ren muttered, activating his status window. A blue screen materialized before him.

'What? I extracted thousands of monsters and only got two abilities, both from the Lich. But what about the other abilities?' Ren exclaimed, his expression one of shock.
'Hah! It seems that because they were undead, their bodies were too feeble for extraction. Or maybe not, since I received experience points and stats from them. It might be because their abilities were weak, or I already possess something similar but more powerful,' Ren concluded, clicking on the descriptions to view the four new skills he acquired.
[ABILITY DESCRIPTIONS]:
[GHOST WALK: This ability lets the user move silently like a ghost and even walk through walls. The user can only pass through objects they select.]
[TRAP MASTER: This ability allows the user to spot hidden traps ahead and enhances their understanding of traps. It works passively.]
[NECROMANCY: With this ability, the user can command the dead, turning them into mindless minions. The undead will follow the user's commands. The user can summon undead creatures without requiring a corpse, but it consumes a significant amount of mana.]
[BLINK: This ability lets the user teleport to any distant locations by using mana.]
'Wow, these abilities are amazing. But I can't figure out why the Lich, with the Blink ability, didn't use it to escape. Maybe he drained his mana summoning the undead, leaving none for teleportation. Well, it worked in my favor,' Ren mused, a content smile on his face.
'Thinking about it, these three abilities complement my Assassin's Mirage. I should try to combine them,' Ren thought, activating his initiate ability. Purple energy enveloped him.
However, as he was about to combine the four abilities, Chaos Control and Necromancy started resonating and fused automatically, leaving Ren baffled.
'What the heck, why did these two skills combine on their own? I didn't command that. Thankfully, it didn't blow me up. I was wary of mixing anything with Chaos Control after the last incident scarred the shit out of me. But this fusion happened without any explosive outcome. Maybe they're naturally compatible. Well, let's see if the other three can blend as well,' Ren mumbled, initiating his ability once more. This time, the four abilities fused seamlessly.
'Phew, that's done. Let's see what's changed now,' Ren said, activating his status window. A blue interface materialized before him.
