22 A killer (continuation)

I turned back and saw my ex-boss crawling to the door leading to the officer's hall where he can cry for help, so I ran fast and pressed him to the floor with my foot. He cried from pain because I touched his injured backbone, then I leaned down and turned him around.

"Everything has only one way out. Answer Markus's question or die here in pain. I won't restrain him again because of you," I whispered then put his tie in its perfect place as he was doing with my tie all those damn years. He looked deep into my eyes as if believed every word I had said.

"We planned to kill her almost a… y… a year ago when she accidentally heard the conversation about us planning how to get rid of m… mafia using our rats in the… m… mafia bloody banks. We kicked the back of her head so because of the trauma she lost some memories on her own…," he said, trembling under my leg like a lone autumn leaf. I remembered when a year ago they said a villain attacked me on the streets, so I fell from the steps, kicked the back of my head, and lost my memories of the past few days. But, those memories never turned back to me, so…

"A lie. You used something for me to not have my memories back. I couldn't remember a whole week and till now I have no idea what was going on during that week…" I looked back at Markus, who clicked his fingers again and the fire turned off. He read the handwriting on the paper, then stood up and put it in his pocket.

"They probably used strong hypnosis on you while you were weak from the trauma. Vampires have strong hypnosis abilities and the more human blood he drinks, the older he is, the stronger hypnosis can get," he said coming closer to us, "There are our main bloody banks addressed on this piece of paper. Were you planning to attack them from the inside and burn them down to leave us without the main source of food?"

The rat under my shoes nodded, still trembling as a lonely autumn leaf. I rolled my eyes.

"Ridiculous. How were you planning to get rid of the mafia by just leaving them without the main source of food?" I looked at Markus, having no ideas in my head, "You have other bloody banks and not only in our state or country, right?"

"They would kill their rats in our ranks, and mafia bosses would blame other mafia bosses for sabotage because in those main bloody banks work a lot of vampires from different mafia families. It would be the inner war and the mafia would kill themselves. Bloody banks would be only for a certain mafia family, so the other ones would die from lack of blood or would be forced to attack humans. It would cause humans to hunt for vampires…" Markus gently took my leg, put it aside, and lift my ex-boss in the air, "Right?"

"R… right…" he nodded, crying from pain harder when Markus lifted him. I crossed my hands over my chest.

"There's one problem…" Markus looked deep into his eyes, "Me."

"We…" the rat's voice was trembling and his body shaking. He's probably bleeding from the inside because of the broken bones touching some organs. I saw some blood on his lips and felt my throat aching. Markus had better self-control than me, and it was obvious. "We… were… afraid of you… and thought… after… you would be left… alone… You'd come to us… with… the truce…"

He closed his eyes and the blood threw up from his mouth. Markus threw him quickly back to his table, so we were safe and clean. I looked at him.

"That's kind of…"

"… good plan. But, I would never come to them with the truce…" Markus looked around as if trying to find out something as important as that document he accidentally took from his table, then looked at me. "What do you think we should do with this?"

"Ask some close people to look it over carefully without turning it into a whole mess and without leaving their fingerprints." I suggested as an ex-officer, then took wet wipes from my purse and wiped the door handle, "Then you can burn it down. Someone just needs to take some time before he will be noticed dead."

"Not a problem." Markus took his phone out of his pocket, put some short text into it, and sent the message to Raphael, then looked at me watching at his phone but said nothing while hiding it in his pocket. He put his hand at my waist, pressed me to himself and I opened the door with wet wipes, we got outside and Markus closed the door after us. I cleaned quickly the door handle even if I knew this place would be turned into ash, I need to be sure neither his nor my fingertips wouldn't be found.

I put the wet wipes back in my purse when I noticed some police officers watching us, so I looked over Markus's white suit to notice his collar has some blood strains. However, they are too small to be noticed at distance. So, why they are looking at us?

Markus looked at the door leading to the office of my dead ex-boss, then looked at the people looking at us as if thinking what to do.

"Aren't you going to kill all of them?" I asked with some fear in my voice. Like I'm not the one who cared about their lives as they didn't care about mine before, I just don't want innocent humans to be killed because of me.

"I'm against killing innocent humans, but only if they are innocent," he whispered at me, "I just need to correct their mind a bit…"

"Hypnosis? You're able to do it too?" I arched an eyebrow remembering that guy on the training with hypnosis ability, "I thought hypnosis is a gift? What other gifts do you have?"

"Hypnosis is a gift when you can use it on vampires and other supernatural creatures, as Henry can. All vampires have simple hypnosis abilities, as they can use them on humans," Markus said, letting go of my waist and moving in the direction of my ex-colleagues. They froze as if they were unable to move.

"So Henry trained his basic hypnosis ability to a high, new level?" I went to the exit of the police station, hearing Markus's answer on my back.

"Yes."

"I'll wait in a car…" I said and went outside, then ran as fast as possible to the car I parked in the parking lot. No one should see us near the police station.

~Markus~

Aurora was either shocked or tired because she refused to drive back home. She pressed her back to the car seat and closed her eyes, keeping silent from the time I drove out of the police station street.

"Are you okay?" I asked, and put my right hand on her knee. She flinched, opened her eyes, and looked at me. Her eyes were blood-red, and her fangs were slightly touching her lower lip.

"I'm fine," she said and touched her fangs with her slim fingers. "I don't understand why they haven't hidden."

"Normal reaction to adrenaline…" I started stroking her knee, trying to help her to calm down. She sat closer to me and put her head on my shoulder, pressing her cold nose to my cold skin. "You're cold."

"You're cold too…" she smiled, then hugged me, breathing deeply, probably enjoying my male smell. I chuckled, driving through the hard city traffic to the outskirts, where my mansion is. She suddenly straightened up and looked at me with her hungry blood-red eyes, "You smell tasty…"

"Drink if you need. Bloody red eyes won't impress my family…" I put down the tie and the collar of the shirt, revealing my neck. She burst her fangs to my skin, making greedy gulps, while I felt excitement running down my body to the nether regions. She put her hand right at the place where all the excitement gathered and started stroking my manhood, making me hard to concentrate on driving. However, I squeezed the steering wheel with my left hand, concentrating on the road, and pressed her to myself with my right one. I kept my eyes focused on the red B.M.W. driving slowly in front of us.

When we drove out of the city, she took her fangs out of my neck and looked into my eyes.

"Thanks…" she kissed my lips slightly, but I took her waist with my hand and put her on my knees, kissing her lips greedily. She blushed, probably because she sat at my er*ction, and hugged my neck, kissing me back.

"And what should I do now with that er*ction…?" I whispered, licking the leftovers of my blood from her lips and stroking her back, keeping the same speed I had before.

"I can help…" she whispered back, making my blood boil in my veins. I looked from her shoulder to the road, turned the steering wheel to the left, and followed a path to my mansion, lowering the speed of the car.

"It's so hard to resist…" I whispered to her lips, feeling goosebumps running up and down her skin, then looked at the road again and turned the steering wheel to the left, and stopped, waiting for the gates to open. As soon as they opened, I slowly drove back to the garage. "But there's no time left…"

"What should we do with it then?" she whispered to my lips, slightly biting the lower one.

"I'm afraid everything would turn to the normal state as soon as my eyes will see my family members…" I drove to the garage and stopped at the first free place, then turned the car off and looked at a watch in my hand, "Five minutes."

"I will do my best to ease the situation," she hugged me tightly, and I looked into her eyes. They were still blood-red, and her fangs still haven't hidden. That's strange, because, as a rule, dhampirs are half-humans, and as soon as they calm down their fangs are hiding. The same about their eyes' color.

I tried to find any reasonable explanation in my head but failed, so I took her chin in my fingers and started stroking it.
