Chapter One; Update

Sport watched the emotions play across her face. Winter bit down on her lip rolling it lightly, looking back at Sport. He only smiled at her hugging her a little harder. Sport stated quietly,

"It's okay Winter, the break up wasn't as bad as you think. I'm a lot more relaxed, feeling the freedom right now. Listen Gem has been involved with someone, for quite sometime now. Her father isn't on talking terms with her anymore. It's not as bad as you think, we ended it mutually. We both agreed, her wedding is not very far away. So make sure you check your mail regularly okay."

Winter pressed her hand against his chest giving him a side hug she sadly stated,

"Are you sure Sport, I never expected this to happen. I actually imagined myself as the maid of honor in your guys wedding. I was looking forward to making the arrangements for the Bachelor and Bachelorette party.

Well as long as you both are okay, I'll adjust to the difference. You both are okay with all this?"

"Yeah, it's helped us both out in a big way. She was offered a job in New York, as was her Bride to be. They're both managers of a very large Stocks Business. The business gave them a three bedroom house to reside in, during their employment. They'll be covered for years, rent free everything else they have to pay for its a ten year contract. They both were very excited, even have their wedding planned, they've already set arrangements to rent a specific lake area for the grand wedding. It'll be beautiful, you'll see."

Sport hugged her tightly rubbing his chin against the top of her hair stating it confidently. Winter sat up frowning slightly,

"I seen you at the Jewelry store, you both were there."

Sport winked at her finishing up his tea with remote in hand he turned on the TV checking out the new movies. He confirmed positively,

"I helped them both pick out the wedding bands, they entwine with their engagement rings. It's a beautiful styled pattern with vines and diamonds. I was really impressed, they both loved them. I'm damn proud of my taste, boosted my confidence in a whole new way. Even picked out the pillows and carriers, the items are top line gorgeous. I always had great taste."

Winter smiled with a light chuckle walking to the kitchen table filling her glass and topping his. Plopping down on the couch a few distance away from him she grabbed her lap blanket taking a sip watching him browse through the menu. She asked,

"So what we going to watch? 'The Infernal Machine'? Or 'Meet Cute,' I heard 'The Invitation' is good it would be perfect at this time." She laughed grinning wide.

Sport chuckled,

"Yeah have to agree, choice is, 'The Invitation' Than maybe later we'll watch something like 'The Pirates, The Last Royal Treasure.' You agree?"

Winter nodded as he clicked the remote, typing in the password. Cuddling down into her lap blanket, she rested her feet on his lap placing her cup of tea on the night stand. He leaned back looking at the menu and clicked the movie smiling. Checking the time satisfied, he didn't need to go to work for a few days, and Winter would start her vacation tomorrow. The time couldn't be any more perfect. Friends chilling out, enjoying a movie without his phone ringing. Pulling his phone out he turned it off, watching the start of the movie. Quickly putting it on the table to make sure he wouldn't misplace it. With a deep breath he leaned back, the beginning of the movie wasn't to bad. At least it kept their attention, unlike some movies he's seen.

Taking a side glance he watched Winter as he massaged her feet. Seeing her completely relaxed, her eye lids were heavy she looked tired yet good tea could relax anyone. She had been doing some serious overtime, he wasn't sure why. He wasn't going to ask, she would tell him if it was necessary. He stated quietly,

"You know Winter you've been alone for quite sometime. Did Alex really have that kind of effect on you? Why haven't you been dating, it's kind of weird not seeing him around?"

Winter rubbed her feet together, into the movie as she answered him,

"It's only been a year in a half, I'm not going to be on the back burner for any man Sport. I deserve better than second choice, he went back to Maddy anyways. They have a daughter together and I won't compete against that. He cheated on me twice with Maddy, he has a daughter now. I'm not interested, I still have goals and accomplishments to complete. I'm not cool with a cheater Sport, it's a high dislike. He's not attractive anymore I lost absolutely all interest in him. I have boundaries that should be respected not broken all the time there should be a mutual respect between a couple." Sport lifted a brow watching her as she watched the movie. His statement hadn't even affected her, that surprised him. Seemed to him she had healed from the two year relationship. Now that he had to admire, Winter had always been a very loving woman. Taking good care of the men she had dated, getting them high paid jobs. Including others that would improve they're lives, yet it seemed to effect her relationships in a strange way. The men seemed to let it get to their heads always going after another woman. Perhaps it was just change of scenery, he had always gotten very thoughtful about. Yet not one of men she dated said anything bad about, they just wanted to broaden the horizon. At times it had really pisted him off, yet not saying a word about it. Keeping the men Winter dated at a distance was a good move on his part. If he didn't some of those men would have their asses handed to them in a matter 5 seconds or less. The men infuriated him, little did they know about her friend Sport. Showed him how ignorant they all really were, Winter is a beautiful caring hard working woman. Very few women at Winter's age would own everything she had, most of those had been set. Taking a deep breath he turned to watch the clock, with a quick glance. He couldn't help but smile, sure enough Winter had fallen asleep. Her words had been heavy as she had spoken to him. Something she hadnever grown out of, even in her younger years she had always been like that. Sport thought it was absolutely down right adorable, how many times he had wanted to hold her. To just listen to her while she slept peacefully, he reached over brushing a strand of her dark hair from her cheek. She responded by cuddling into her lap blanket, he looked up at the movie. The movie was almost over she had watched most of it except thirty minutes to the ending. That impressed him, clicking to the next movie, he leaned forward taking a drink of his tea. Looking up at the clock again, in a few hours he would have to carry her to bed. And crash in the spare room like she had offered, he knew he had left some night wear and a few other items here. He would have to check the closet to make sure. He yawned only a few more hours left he thought, Knight will be coming in shortly. She had always known how to open the door, so he hadn't been concern, she would crash on her large fluffy bed. At Winter's house everyone would be in bed by nine pm, it's wasn't her rule. It was just how it's been since she bought the house. Winter liked her eight hour rest refusing to give it up.
