Socked

In a blink of an eye she was gone... I saw her running as she disappeared in the rain where my eyes couldn't reach . I was left under the heavy rain deep in my thoughts fantasising about her . I came to my senses after a while then I realised I was under rain but there was no shelter near there where I could stay for a while until the rain pases . I pushed my wet body to start moving .Jst then I noticed she had left behind her book . I moved towards it and picked it up , it had a hard pink cover so the content inside wasn't that affected. I placed it inside my bag which was also wet but it was somehow safe inside there. I thought of going back to school but I was too far from it so I resorted to moving in the rain. "It's totally worth it " I thought to my self while moving like there was no rain at all.

After a while the rain passed. I didn't mind as I continued to move.

Finally I could see my house although it was kinda turning dark I swiftly matched and reached it . I had the house key so I unlocked the door quitely so that I wouldn't let mom see me wet . I entered quitely and removed my socked shoes and socks plus the shirt and held them in my hand as I closed the door gently. I looked around the seating room and the dining but no sign of my mom. The sitting room was the first then the dining room. One in the sitting could see another in the dining room as there was a wide somehow round in the corners - passage. then the stairs which led to the bed rooms were on the right.

After looking around and seeing no sign of my mom I tip toed and went up the stairs. I reached the small hallway and there was no sign of her , my room was in opposite direction to hers . I looked at the door of her bed room and it was closed. I felt at ease then quitely went to my room then entered it was kinda dark inside I put down the wet shirt , socks and shoes I was holding and went to turn on the light ." Ahhh..." that's the sound I made after turning on the light realising my mom was seated in the corner of my room at the couch.

"Why have you come back late "she asked staring at me kinda of confused yet serious.

"And why are you wet"

"I will answer all your questions but first let me remove these wet clothes before I catch a cold " I said to her trying to ignore her questions.

She said "Ok... I will be waiting for you downstairs you have some explaining to do while standing up to leave .she seemed unconvinced. As she left my room I sighed in relief . I removed the wet clothes.Looking at the watch mom gave me it was socked and it wasn't working I removed and placed it at the table then went in the bathroom for a warm shower . The warm water from the shower made me feel warm . After the shower I dried up then wore my PJs finally . I had taken a long time not wearing them . I remembered the my bag . I reached for it and removed my stuff plus the pink book .I smiled at myself thinking about how tomorrow might be . But first I had to take care of this problem about my mom.

I went downstairs to the dining only finding her eagerly waiting for me .I sat at the dining table facing her and before she could say anything .

"I lost my transport ...so I had to move " were the words that came out of my mouth .

She looked at me then said.

" You could have called me to pick you up " .

I cooked up another lie in my head.

"My phone battery was out " I quickly said .

"But wat about the umbrella I gave you" still confused she asked me . I cooked up another lie in my head . I was always so good at lying.

"I ...I lost it" but this wasn't so convincing.

But surprisingly she agreed "Fyn but next time call me I will pick you up." she said .

" And is the watch I gave you safe " she said narrowing her eyes .

"Yeah it's safe." I agreed feeling kinda of guilty.

"Good "she stood up going to the kitchen to make me food . Fortunately she trusted me otherwise she wouldn't have believed a word I said .

After eating the sweet food I went straight to my room after telling Mom goodnight . she didn't stop me although it was too early as she understood that I was very tired .

I went to my room and sleep thinking about that strange girl.
