Chapter 2

Inside the college, a girl and a boy are waiting for someone, and the guy who had helped Vidya joins them.

RAJ: Kathir has arrived. Why are you late?

KATHIR: My bike broke down, that's why I'm late.

ISHA: You always come up with excuses like this. Presentations are already challenging without you, you know? My brain is already frozen, and my score has been affected.

KATHIR: I'm sorry, dear. I won't repeat this again.

ISHA: You always say that, but then you end up doing it again. This is the last warning. Be ready later.

RAJ: What do you mean? Are you breaking up?

KATHIR: Stop it, Raj.

Kathir looks at Raj angrily.

RAJ: Relax, my friend. I'm just joking.

Raj pats Kathir's shoulder with a smile. Kathir is a quiet man who only speaks when necessary.

While the three of them were talking, a man approaches them.

NITESH: Hey, Isha! What are you doing here?

The man looks at Kathir.

NITESH: Oh, are you on a date?

ISHA: No, Nitesh. You presented very well earlier.

Kathir looked at the floor while his friends observed the conversation. Secretly, Kathir didn't like Nitesh.

NITESH: Oh, that one? You also did very well, but Kathir didn't come to class, and because of him, you lost marks.

Isha glared at Kathir, and he could sense her anger, but he remained silent.

RAJ: Don't worry about that, Nitesh.

NITESH: It would have been better if you had joined my team earlier.

Kathir glared at Nitesh.

ISHA: Let's not talk about that, Nitesh. It's okay.

Nitesh says goodbye and leaves. Isha continues to glare at Kathir.

ISHA: Do you see him? He is responsible and cares about my marks. But why, babe, do you disappoint me?

KATHIR: Babe, forgive me. My bike broke down, otherwise, I would have been there early.

ISHA: Just go away.

Isha leaves, and Kathir tries to follow her.

KATHIR: Isha, wait!

RAJ: Kathir, wait.

Raj grabs Kathir's arm.

RAJ: Let her go, Kathir. It's not your fault that the bike broke down. She's overreacting.

Kathir removes Raj's hand from his arm and runs after Isha. Raj feels sorry for his friend.

The next day at the cafeteria, Kathir and his friends have a conversation.

RAJ: Have you talked to Isha?

KATHIR: I called her, and she said she's busy. She asked me to meet her at the college.

RAJ: Oh, okay.

Raj drinks his juice while looking at Kathir, who sits sadly, staring at the table.

RAJ: Do you want to drink your juice, or should I drink it?

Kathir looks at his juice and pushes the glass towards Raj.

RAJ: You don't want it?

KATHIR: No.

Kathir shook his head.

RAJ: Hey, why are you like this? Isha already said she'll meet you at college. What's the problem?

KATHIR: I know, but I don't want the juice. You can have it.

RAJ: You won't regret it.

At that moment, Vino and Vidya enter the cafeteria.

VIDYA: We need to eat quickly. Our class starts at 9 o'clock.

VINO: Alright, you go sit. I'll go order the food. What do you want, bread or a sandwich?

VIDYA: Anything is fine.

Vino takes a seat and answers the phone, while Vino orders the food. Then Vino brings the food to the table. Vidya notices Kathir and his friend.

VINO: Here you go.

Vino takes a seat with Vidya.

VIDYA: "Hey, that's the guy who saved me when I almost fell down the stairs."

VINO: "Who?"

VIDYA: "That curly-haired guy."

Vino looks at them.

VINO: "Maybe, but I'm not sure."

On the other side of the table, at Kathir's table...

RAJ: "Nitya called me to the locker. I'm going now. Do you want to come too?"

KATHIR: "You go ahead. I'll wait for Isha."

RAJ: "Okay."

Raj leaves. Vidya and Vino have finished their breakfast.

VINO: "Let's leave."

VIDYA: "Let's go."

Vidya and Vino exit the cafeteria. Vidya realizes she left her phone on the table where they finished breakfast.

VIDYA: "Hey, wait."

VINO: "Why? What happened?"

VIDYA: "I lost my phone. Wait for me. I'll go check in the cafeteria."

VINO: "Okay."

When Vidya tries to enter the cafeteria, Kathir is leaving at the same time, causing them to meet in front of the door. It becomes difficult to walk due to the confusion, so Kathir steps aside and makes way for Vidya. After Vidya enters the cafeteria, Kathir leaves, and Vino watches until Kathir is gone.

In the cafeteria, Vidya finds her phone on her table, retrieves it, and leaves.

VINO: "Is that guy a senior?"

VIDYA: "Who?"

VINO: "Just now, you two had a blocked way in front of the door. I mean the man who helped you on the stairs."

VIDYA: "Maybe. Let's go."

Vino nods.
